After almost seven decades of living, all of them in the church and almost half of them as a minister, I have come to the conclusion that most religion is evil. Wars, pogroms against the "evils of society," and the proliferation of ignorance and abuse in the "name of some deity" are destroying our world. I will have none of it anymore.

A THREAD ON THREADS!

I’m receiving lots of questions about our position on federation with Threads and realised I haven’t posted on this subject for a while.

We have lots of users who do want to federate with Threads, and lots of users who don’t. It’s my job to find a good solution that works for everyone.

Our position has always been to start from a defensive stance due to our technical and moderation concerns.

So what sort of solution do we think might keep (almost) everyone happy?

@fkamiah17 @JugglingWithEggs I served the church for over thirty years as a pastor and priest. Retired last August. Have been inside a church only once since then. Welby and others in church leadership are a major reason why.

We've had a handful of reports of images loading slowly, but we can't reproduce them.

It would really help if we could get some feedback from our lovely users (that's you).

Are you experiencing slow image loading at the moment, or very recently?

    I found a dozen or so of these guys on my kitchen ceiling. Does anyone know why they're here and how I get rid of them structurally? Please boost for visibility. I'd say they're about 1cm / 1/2 inch long. I've only seen them on the ceiling so far --thankfully.

    @eribosot Looks like you've got a moth problem. Do you have a bird? Some bird food contains such infestations. The only way I found to get rid of them was to freeze my bird food for a week or more before using it.

    @eribosot Freeze the food as soon as you bring it home and that should take care of the problem. I used to live in Minnesota, so could keep the food outside during the winter. Or just keep the food in the freezer until you go to the park. If you cannot freeze, just keep the food in an airtight container in the garage or shed, if you have one.
