Wenn ich die #Vennbahn bis Troisvierges fahre, bietet sich da ein weiterer (Fern-) Radweg in der Nähe an, den ich gut verknüpfen könnte?
Im Idealfall Richtung Norden/Nordwesten, der mich ungefähr auf hohe Ruhrgebiet bringt.

@FraumitFahrrad@fedibikes_de ich würde sagen, Rur Radweg würde sich anbieten. Da müsstest du zwar ein Stück Vennbahn zurück radeln, aber dann führt dich Rur Radweg bis Hückelhoven / südlich Mönchengladbach und dann bist du schon halb im Ruhrgebiet.

The last test and recent rides have been useful in the sense that I realized I simply can't have a backpack on my back for three weeks while trying to do long daily rides. I already occasionally suffer from shoulders being tense due to weight on the backpack while riding, so probably not a good idea for longs rides over many weeks.
So, new plan, don't buy a frame pack and instead buy a rear rack and a pannier which converts into a backpack, thus allowing leaving the backpack at home. Due to time being limited, options were limited to local shops, which basically meant a combo of Ortlieb's Quick Rack + Vario PS QL2.1 26L. The Quick Rack is simply amazing, literally can be attached and detached in seconds. The Vario PS is very functional. It does the job of being both a pannier and also a backpack. This is a difficult thing to achieve and given that Ortlieb have done a good job. However, it's somewhat ugly and uncomfortable actually wearing as a backpack. But hey, we're going riding, not walking, right?
This ride told me I do need another pannier, if I'm going to skip the frame pack and backpack, otherwise the single pannier is just going to have too much weight in it. Basic model panniers are available second hand quite well luckily so hopefully wont need to buy that one new.
Setting up the tent was really easy! At least without rain pouring down 😅 I do love the functionality of the MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2. Also got to test my Klymit inflatable sleeping pad and the super awesome FLEXTAILGEAR mini-pump, which also functions as a light for the tent. Really nice find.
So I’ve been planning to do a #gravel ride from Berlin to Budapest (or Vienna) this May, but after 5 days of partially offroad #bikepacking in Hungary I have some doubts whether I want another week of Eastern European Offroads :D Any suggestions for a long gravel or cyclepath-only, mostly nature route not too far from Berlin or Budapest? (Also somewhere not too hot:) #cycling#touring
@mariusor I know EV6 and riding it is on my bucket list, but I might want something that avoids bigger towns entirely. Something riverside might be a good idea..
Still in the works and expected to launch in Summer. I do really hope they reverse the system until then. Because having the closed fabric on top over the aero bars really would mess with many peoples configurations. Of bike computers, navigation devices, phone and light mounting and what have you.
I suggest they should have those single straps up top and the closed part down below the drybag - or come up with some other solution (maybe incorporate a hard mounting plate on top).
Someone recently asked how I carry water on my tours with the #Brompton.
Sometimes I only use a pouch attached to the handlebars for a bottle of water (0.6 lt).
On longer tours I use the big Borroughs bag in the front. This provides two rather large bags which are easily accessible. Each of them can hold up to two bottles (2 times 0.6 + 0.5 lt)
In the back, I can carry another large bottle (1.5 liters).
Get moving! Yes, I mean you! I know several people whom I wished they would finally get on their bicycles and get moving. So far, they only talked about it, but never really acted. They have a variety of excuses: They "have no time"; "their body is not in shape"; "it's too cold right now, I wait until it gets warmer"; "my bicycle would need to get fixed first"; and many more. I would like to urge them to lift their bodies now.

I did it! I bicycled all the way between Copenhagen, Denmark, and Graz, Austria, with the #Brompton. I did this in three portions between April 2023 and now. I covered the distance of 1900 km in 25 days of bicycling.
Neue Taschen für das Rad, hier eine komplette Serie von Osprey. Rucksäcke können die ziemlich gut. Die Radtaschen sehen vielversprechend aus. Aktuell nutze ich ein Frontrack mit Packsack sowie eine Ortlieb Saddle-Bag, Verarbeitung usw. nicht zu beanstanden. Mich nervt an der die Packerei im montierten Zustand. Das Konzept mit Harness und Packsack gefällt mir, erinnert an Restrap. Hat jemand praktische Erfahrungen damit?

So sehr ich Osprey bei Rucksäcken, v.a. wegen des geringen Gewichts, schätze, die gezeigten Taschen kommen mir jetzt nicht soo wahnsinnig innovativ vor.. Das haben andere schon vorgemacht.
Das Konzept Harness kann ich aber sehr empfehlen, eben weil die Taschen auch unabhängig vom Rad bepackt werden können.
Vorsichtig wäre ich nur, wenn sie offensichtlich nicht 100%ig wasserdicht sind! @mastobikes_de@fedibikes_de
Yeah, so I hear you saying this helmet looks slightly unusual.
This is however the #gravel#bikepacking specific version, and the storage space under the helmet contains storage for an entire sleep system, food and lube
The helmet itself is utilised when camping to attach the tarp, proving ample living space, and doubling as a bowl for crisps and snacks.
The pro uci #cycling version contains the battery units for the bicycle motor, and the size varies depending on the race length
