Wandering about the grounds at Blickling House we took a wrong turn, but we're rewarded by finding this beautiful cluster of small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata). They believe they are about 600 years old.

Rociada, west of Las Vegas, is a fusion of two villages, Upper and Lower Rociada. Other nearby communities, like Pendaries and Gascon, though technically in Mora County, also use the Rociada postal address.

We've been in London, doing a few London things. The other day, we went to Kew Gardens. We visited the Temperate (as in climate) House and Kew Palace, but spent most of the day walking around admiring their trees.

Looking across the lake, which is reflecting the gray sky and the surrounding trees. A patch of yellow flowers is growing along rocks on the right.

@aardrian We decided not to do Cutty Sark, but we walked past it on the way to and from the Tube!

@sbourne Well I hope you enjoy the remainder of your visit while I enjoy it remotely.

I met a venerable old shore beast today. I told them how much I liked their hair cut. They seemed quite pleased to hear that.

A face view of the shore beast. Their face is a little lopsided, but their imposing chin makes up for it.

Did the today, now I need a good sleep. What a brilliant day, town was packed with people. I stuffed my face, bought lots of spuds, merchandise, chips, lemon butter and more. What a great festival. Get to it tomorrow!

Delicious tots with bacon, so damned good.
Jinkys tots are amazing!
Fluffy chickens!

Last week was a whirlwind of wandering in southern New Mexico, from Silver City to Alamogordo. The weather was very cooperative, with relatively low wind until the day I drove home. The snap happy week continued at Gathering of Nations of Friday.

My teenage child complained from time to time that they have never been to a #McDonalds, so as we where on a #roadTrip last weekend we stopped at a McDonald's. I said "When I was a child I liked the Big Mac."

They replied "What's a Big Mac?"

I went into #ManchurianCandidate mode, my mind went blank, feelings left my face, & in a monotone voice I said: "TwoAllBeefPattiesSpecialSauceCheeseLettucePicklesOnionsOnASesameSeedBun".

Then I assassinated somebody else's political opponents.

CRADLE MOUNTAIN, TAS / KM 8,263

Cradle Mountain stands tall dominating the eponymous National Park. The kind lady at the visitor centre warns us; there is plenty to see and do here, and the two days we have planned won’t be enough. It’s a paradise for hikers and nature lovers. From a gentle stroll around Dove Lake to a steep climb alongside a rocky face to Marion’s Lookout, there is a trail for everyone. But our favourite part has to be watching the wombats at sunset from the boardwalk.

Located in a collapsed lava tube, Bandera's ice cave never rises above 31º Fahrenheit. You feel the temperature change dramatically as you descend the stairs. The igneous (volcanic) stone insulates like the ultimate Yeti cooler. The ice has been accumulating for more than 3,400 years (based on core samples tested). It is more than 20-feet deep and regenerates as new rain and snow melt seep into the cave.

Just returned from our first long-ish roadtrip (520 km) with the kids, which was also my first long drive in a Tesla, even though I got my first one four years ago. The kids, the car, and the superchargers all behaved nicely, so I'm sure we'll do this again sooner rather than later.

Volkswagen are working on a way to avoid collisions with wild life, I hope this works. Kangaroos are notorious for leaping straight at cars.
