Does anyone know what 「いらり」 mean, I'm having trouble finding it in any online dictionary

anianimalsmoe, to japanese Google Translate thinks anime "Gushing over Magical Girls" is... "Madoka Magica".
I think the knowledge engine isn't updated with new anime, and it assumes that it's close enough.
A similar type of issue happens if you put anime 'delicious in dungeon', with any type of quote marks: https://sakurajima.moe/@anianimalsmoe/111890741455224778

NaraMoore, to JapaneseMusic I have spoken to @ThePop and will be taking over JMusicFriday for a while. I already micro-blog on chika and J Idols, so it is no trouble for me. I will be adding and trying out the prompt IdolSunday as well. Open for all idol music J Idol, K Idol, Kaigai Idol
socks, to JapaneseMusic Not sure if I missed the #JMusicFriday prompt, but I did want to share my favorite version of the Creepy-Nuts song that's going round rn. Aohi Rame is SO. DAMN. GOOD.
Or 華金? Well, either way: TGIF!
hl, to jpmusic I'm not familiar with the lyrics, but I'm assuming folk #song Greensleeves is about a child with a runny nose, right?
hl, @alexandra Perhaps he wrote it after a bad cold?
In the car on the way to a castle (お城) with my host family’s kids, no less. They thought it was hilarious that I was excited to see the お尻 (butt)....
anianimalsmoe, to japanese Google translate is horribly wrong in thinking that the anime "Delicious in Dungeon" is "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon" in Japanese.
I'm guessing that google thinks that Anime + Dungeon = DanMachi.

yon, @geraineon @anianimalsmoe I can live with a language being more specific than languages I previously know. The opposite isn’t good:)
It’s like roof/ceiling. Swedish as one word for both (though you can specify inner if context is lacking), but having two in English is helpful.
geraineon, @yon @anianimalsmoe the absence of more specific single words just means we need to add words to describe I guess, and maybe points to the importance of differentiating them immediately vs. not. There are two words for rice in Cantonese depending on whether they are raw ("mai") or cooked ("fan").
ambergrey, to jpmusic Clip of a new song 🎹🖤 I hope you feel it! #WomenComposers #AmberGrey #singer #song #music #musodon #GearSquad #musician #vocals #keys #piano #soft #calm #gentle
feliks, @ambergrey Are you gonna release a Piano only album someday? Your voice remembers me of Sibylle Baier. Cozy
woolie, @ambergrey I’m a prog & metal kind of guy. Your music is great. Your melodies, chords and especially your voice. I’m a fan. 🤓
救急救命士(きゅうきゅうきゅうめいし / paramedic) is one of my favorite Japanese words because it has きゅう three times in a row....
I met two Russian people who were running a booth at a festival. One greeted me and tried to converse with me in English, but it soon became apparent that that wouldn’t get us very far. So, we switched to Japanese, and made small talk for a few minutes before I made my purchase....
niten, to jpmusic got my yearly health check this friday (健康診断 けんこうしんだん)
I need to remember to do my poo samples for the poo test they'll do (検便検査 けんべんけんさ)
便 べん means poo/feces/stool
検査 けんさ test
検 けん by itself means test, so you could read 検便検査 as poo test test if you were being pedanticfor the linux nerds out there 大便 だいべん (daiben, also meaning feces) is close in pronunciation to a certain large distribution that I've heard it's the unofficial name in some quarters
FlockOfCats, Oh boy, poop samples…便 there, done that! 🙃
tokyobybike, @FlockOfCats @fetchezlavache @niten Pro tip: Wave your poop samples around inside the train to get a seat on your way to the health check.
I remember kanji by first tracing them a certain amount of times with my finger usually around 5 times...
聾者(ろうしゃ) looks like 龍(たつ・りゅう / dragon)+耳(みみ / ear)then 者(しゃ/person)...
KissAnne, to jpmusic Finnish @Rasta I somehow feel that you would like this #song #music https://youtu.be/RRh0QiXyZSk?si=rRZf6jHm2A9gtFl1
Rasta, Finnish @KissAnne I grew up listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford. Those were classics
KissAnne, Finnish @Rasta ☺️👍 I knew you would like this.

I love the visual aspect. They areでこぼこ and おうとつ and mean bumpiness....
fleur_de_LA, to japanese Almost forgot. February 3 is the #Japanese #Festival #Setsubun, aka Bean-Throwing Festival.
You throw beans at someone wearing an oni (demon) mask, to expel bad luck and bring in good.
Incidentally, #Owls are considered good luck, because the word for #Owl, "fukurou" contains "fuku" meaning luck.🦉✨️
fleur_de_LA, @Jason844 Oh, just realized that said how many beans at a time. Handfuls, definitely. I've seen anime where they throw fistfuls like a major-league pitcher, so I guess have fun.😆
Jason844, @fleur_de_LA Thanks! My fiend, er friend, will appreciate the info.
吉(き↑ち↓)= Lucky (especially from a fortune)...

tksst, to japanese In 2009, @lego and #Japanese retailer Muji collaborated to create innovative building sets that combined basic #LEGO bricks with Muji’s minimalist #design principles. Despite the concept failing to gain popularity, the team at Studio Playfool in #Japan has revived the idea, creating fun and unusual combinations of LEGO and paper using a hole punch and a template. 🧱📄🤖

Zahille7, I thought this about the paper thing when I saw the bendy guy in the picture.
I remember watching a YouTube video (that was recommended to me again about a week ago, btw) a few years back about it and I thought it was a really cool idea.
UKFilmNerd, It’s a shame that LEGO don’t redesign the hole punch and reintroduce this. It’s a great way for people to get creative and have more fun, especially if they only own a few bricks.

Some nice ones in here!
First floor in German has a special name and counting starts with 2nd, so I was curious what translation pages make out of 二階から目薬:
- deepl is not translating literally, but by meaning
- google-translate translates into German as "2. Stock", so circling into Japanese that would be 3rd floor/三階
Translating stays fun, despite (or because?) the attempts to do it in software.
