A new unit is $180 to $350 depending on who you buy it from (why the difference, I do not know). A new battery, bought locally (Batteries Plus) was pricey, at almost $70... but having been bitten by a large number of either counterfeit or fake batteries at Uncle Jeff's Online Emporium (Amazon), I have switched to local purchases until someone here can suggest a better alternative.... #batteries#electronics
My assumption now is any battery bought from Amazon (sometimes, even from Amazon itself) is fake... with maybe exception of "Amazon Basic" batteries. After buying and weighing AA batteries ("Energizer" "Duracell" etc.) from a number of online outlets, and comparing them to the same brands bought at Lowe's, Home Depot, or Target... all the online ones are either fake or grey market crap... (maybe I was unlucky when I did that experiment, but....)
DIY stucco repair - repainted around the new sliding glass door. Will see how it looks as it ages, blended this into the existing stucco in hopes it will age better. #diy#stucco
@EugestShirley Yep, not a perfect match with trowel technique, but I doubt anyone will ever notice in the future (not planning on moving at any point, so...)

Ich könnte eure Hilfe gebrauchen. Ich suche einen Step Down DC Spannungsregler (Modul) der mir 5 V auf einen Bereich zwischen 3,3 V und 4,2 V regelt. Ideal wären 3,7 V.
Die Besonderheit: Das Ding muss mindestens 4 A peak packen, besser 5 A und dabei möglichst günstig und kompakt von den Maßen her sein, besonders Höhe.
Ich tu mich schwer mit der Suche, aber vielleicht hat ja jemand einen wertvollen Tipp :)

Aber alles über 3A ist auf jeden Fall gigantisch im Vergleich zu den winzigen 3A Wandlern.
In der Vergangenheit hab ich zwar schon so ziemlich alle Heimwerkerjobs erledigt, aber bei der Wasserinstallation hab ich wenig Erfahrungen. Zwei in Offenstellung festsitzende Eckventile unter einem Waschbecken zu ersetzen klappte dann aber doch problemlos. Armatur, Siphon etc. kann ich so im nächsten Schritt ersetzen. #DIY

Does anyone know if there exists such a thing as a recessed USB receptacle that can fit in a (US) 1 gang electrical box, that would allow me to flush-mount a USB-powered device, so that the cord would just be hidden in back going into the receptacle? The application is that there’s already a box with 110V power to it, where I want to do this. #DIY#HomeImprovement#LazyWeb#LazyMastodon
@greg yeah. The simplest thing is probably to just run a USB cable through the wall and into the box, and just plug it into a wall adapter somewhere unobtrusive.
I am such a nerd. Since I got my converted to electric '76 KZ400 going again I'm using it for all of my around town trips. Here I am loaded for work this morning with art gallery hanging system track and my tool bag.
@ambivalena I wonder if anyone solo driving a Ford F-150 "truck" tank to work noticed and thought, for a second, that maybe, just maybe, they should have a smaller vehicle. I don't know about your country, Lena, but there's a plague of monster vehicles in this country. And each year they get bigger. Below is where we are at now. These pickup trucks, that often have one person in them and no cargo, are literally longer than a WWII tank. (Apologies for the rant.)
I had a bit of time to record two new tracks to my ongoing instrumental/ambient project “music for snailports”. Trying to just have a mini idea of how I want something to sound and then doing some spontaneous recording. These ones came out a bit #GuitarSoli or like kind of reminds me of being by the ocean.

@arts definitely. I usually end up doing the same kind of stuff haha. But sometimes, yeah there's some cool ambient or electronica stuff I can throw in. I'm usually bass and singing etc but I've done a little guitar, I had childhood friends that were SO good at it and I learned a lot from them but I still do mostly rhythm on that front, too. Recently got a bass again and I play pretty much only that again now haha. Like, I hear the whole song with everything in my head, but I think in basslines 😂
