It's all systems go for a new series set in the same universe as "The Office." Variety reports that a mockumentary set at a dying historic Midwestern newspaper, ostensibly shot by the crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin, has been picked up for a full series at Peacock. Here's more:
@AnnaAnthro what?! Plagiarism? I think there is a HUGE difference between using something as inspiration and plagiarizing content. Gilchae didn't fall down the stairs. She didn't use emerald green curtains. No Aunt PittyPat with ridiculous curls. Rhett was not used as target practice nor was there a Northern princess trying to get in his pants.

@RVLara23 "My So-Called Life" was the first show we thought of when we saw the title of the article — probably because we watched it when we were actual teens rather than hungover students (ahem, "The O.C.").
@Strider Marvel and DC are the worst offenders of Multiverse abuse! They couldn't seem to settle on a continuity and that seriously messed with the quality of their stories.
If you're looking for a new (but short) series to watch, I can thoroughly recommend Netflix's A Man in Full (based on a Tom Wolf book);
Jeff Daniels (who I was pretty impressed by here) plays a Trump like character in business meltdown, while a subplot deals with racism & incarceration in Atlanta.
Better still at only six episodes it avoids the mid-series sogginess that blights some streaming offerings.
Idea for the BBC: Take all those antique, auction type TV programmes clogging up BBC 1 and 2 and stick them entirely on a specific channel called BBC Boomer. Go on. I dare you. #TV#UK#BBC
Amazon Prime Video subscribers are about to see even more ads. In January, viewers who didn't pay an additional $3 a month started to see commercials. Now, Amazon has announced that it's adding what it describes as shoppable carousel ads, interactive pause ads and interactive brand trivia ads. Here's more from Ars Technica. Streaming services that have added ads had better watch their backs: 52% of the people who voted in this poll say they've already dropped a provider because of ads and 36% say they're considering it. Some respondents cited the speedy delivery services as a reason to keep Prime. However, @FediThing points out that Amazon has started charging extra for that in some countries (for example, if you spend under £20 on an order in the U.K., you'll need to pay £1.99 for same-day delivery), so keep an eye on your bills.
