Putting minds at ease in a climate emergency with a six-tonne concrete bunker

"The lowest income countries produce one-tenth of global emissions, but are the most heavily affected by climate change. Bunkers are for the people who can afford it. We are externalising the cost of climate change and it is unequally distributed."

These materials are so emissions-intensive not just because of how they’re made, but also because of how much of them the world uses."

Erster Kaffee. Nochmal gähnen. Und dann langsam los. Habt es mild heute!

A concrete crisis has the UK literally crumbling.

Hundreds of schools, hospitals, and other public buildings made from RAAC, a cheap, lightweight concrete, have to close—the victims of quick fixes and decades of cost-cutting.

Oh, look! They finished this thing! Trekked up to Cradle Mountain, today. Haven't been for a while and it was nice to connect with the great outdoors on the kind of scale that only a good mountain can provide. They have finished the viewing centre and new toilet block next to the lake. It nestles in unobtrusively and can't be seen for most of the walk.

Climate change is an immediate threat to the majority of the world's population.

We need a local, regional, state, national, and international "moon shot" type of concentration of effort using available resources while developing and advancing new science and technologies to counteract the damage humans have caused.

Without this type of all-out, universal cooperation, human civilization, and perhaps humanity itself, are in imminent danger of extinction.
