I drugie pytanie o innym charakterze - czy istnieją znane usługi pozwalające postawić osobie nietechnicznej forum za darmo lub drobną opłatą? Kiedyś były dla phpBB by Przemo, ale fora też były duże częstsze.
Hmm, blocking #Gmail from my little web forum has annoyed some users, but also vastly reduced the amount of russian spam accounts needing manual filtering, as the majority of those were using Gmail addresses.
It all started with Gmail refusing our emails, so users couldn't sign up anyways. Not sure it's a bad thing now.
I had a survey where I asked users on Mastodon which Vivaldi products and services they are using. This is the result:

39% Vivaldi Social (Mastodon)
13% Vivaldi Forums
9% Vivaldi Blogs
1% Vivaldi Automotive
11% used none of the Vivaldi products and services.

It is great to see how many are using Vivaldi across devices and sync. Vivaldi is one of the few browsers that offers browsers on all major OS and the only browser to do that and provide the browser in cars as well.
It is also great to see how many are using the different Vivaldi services. We are happy to provide ways for our community to engage and to support the Fediverse!

With NodeBB, Discourse and Flarum, this makes three #forum software that can now participate in the #Fediverse. The ongoing #SocialCG meeting will certainly endorse the new working group dedicated to topic-centric fediversity, along with @lemmy and @kbin.
Is there interest in a #foss static #forum software? Yes, you heard that right.
Thinking about creating a system for basically periodically scanning the inbox of a mail account, creating a #markdown draft which then can get approved or rejected by simply moving it to the appropiate folder. A #cronjob is then picking it up and compiling the forum page again.
This would work with mailto links, so any email editor is already the writing tool.

I keep thinking how much more logical #usenet would be if someone actually had created local hierarchies like they exist for a few places. there's a france. hierarchy which has groups for all kinds of places in the country.
instead some places, esp. in Germany have hierarchies for themselves (like nbg. or bln.) while Austria has at. and oesterreich., UK has both uk. and england. etc.
but barely anyone is using these by now anyway, so it's a moot point.
which explains why a ton of free or dead cheap usenet servers are situated in Germany.
The only reason to actually pay for usenet by now is if you want to download illegal stuff; the storage space needed for that is so massive that only an actual company can actually afford it.
of course these companies carry the text feeds mostly because it doesn't matter with the rest of the data, and some people never even realize that #usenet actually is a #forum and not some file-share #piracy site

Die ursprünglichen #Forum'e im #Internet gelten schon länger als #veraltet und die scheinbare alternative Lösung #Reddit hat nun #KI integriert und schnuppern die #User aus. Die wahre #Alternative finden wir wieder im Fediverse und sind ua #kbin / #Mbin so wie #Lemmy. Ja das #Fediverse ist viel mehr als nur #Mastodon und Co und kommuniziert nicht nur auf einem Server, sondern in der #Community (ihr kennt es evt schon)
In light of the recent wave of spam, I figured I would throw another one of these out there. If you like the server you're on, and are concerned, there might be a way you can help.
If you're in good standing (haven't had any issues with moderation), are fairly active (check once a day), feel like you know your way around Fedi at this point, and maybe have experience as a #moderator on #Discord, or some other #Forum, consider contacting your server staff and volunteering for moderation duty. All it takes is being able to check reports periodically, and take action on the ones you're confident about: you don't even have to deal with the more complicated ones.
Right now, I think a lot of these servers could use someone who just watches the feed for this bot net, so new bots can get banned quickly.
As usual, also consider donating to your server, and possibly mods if they have a thing for it.
Just had an amazing call with @devnull of #nodebb on behalf of #flarum. His progress on their #federation implementation is already quite impressive. We've decided to keep in touch, share and collaborate on supported FEPs and regularly touch ground in the future.
@luceos That is my sincere hope. You and I are in sync on many things, and the future looks bright for #flarum.
I am very excited to pave the way for #forum software on the #fediverse, and it'll only make things better when Flarum joins up too.
If you really want @mastodonmigration and @fediversereport to go nuts, we'll have to publicly commit to close inter-compatibility and cross-migrations too 😅
