Many areas in the land where >2M people live have been turned into rubble. The death toll in Israel as a result of the attacks by #Hamas continues to rise as well.
Many people across the #UnitedStates are concerned after an alleged #terrorist threat began circulating on social media for Friday the 13th in which Hamas was encouraging supporters to flood the streets for a “Global Day of Jihad.”
This is a free world: some folks support Putin, others support Hamas, even troll around with ridiculous rationalizations to justify terrorism, terrorists are despicable humain beings.

There is a mass, international, peaceful movement to end the violence in #Palestine, with both Palestinians and Jews at the forefront, one that everyone who wants peace should support unwavering. Its the movement to Boycott, Divest from, and Sanction #Israel until they adhere to international law by granting Palestinians their full rights including following through on Resolution 194, which they agreed to as a condition for gaining recognition by the UN. Until Israel has to face consequences and international pressure for the crime of apartheid, the only recourse that Palestinians will have at their disposal is violence. They have no government, no passports, no real hospitals, no genuine representation, no course of action that could produce change available to them.
Unfortunately, #BDS is illegal in 12 US states, including NY, which I called home until it became illegal for any non-profit that receives US grants to hire me, and I used to make a living as a media artist, very much reliant on such orgs. My earnings have been cut in half of what they were before, as have most of my comrades who participated in the International Solidarity Movement from the start. Those laws aren't merely symbolic, they are aimed to destroy anyone who attempts to chart a path towards sustained peace, truth and reconciliation.
Why do we have laws prohibiting peaceful and principaled anti-colonialism, while the right wing is allowed to spread vitriol and hate that brings murder upon our #lgbtq comrades and denial of medical rights, legitimizes apartheidesque police violence against black men, and allows rednecks to patrol the borders in bounty hunter fashion, murdering immigrants in the desert without consequence?
#BDS activists are guilty of no serious crimes, and anyone who takes antisemitism seriously will acknowledge that antisemitism isn't an actual problem in BDS. We do not contribute to the atmosphere of extremism and white supremacist terrorism that defines the USA's current juncture, and has lead to several attacks on synagogues and Jewish groups throughout the country. Yet the only laws targeting a specific political group in the country are these anti BDS laws, which are designed to destroy everyone who participates in the movement in any serious, outspoken and sustained fashion, because they want to destroy any legitimate path to peace in order to render the situation intractable.
Not to mention the huge number of leftwing activist currently serving time in maximum security prisons for participating in the just and powerful #BLM protests that broke out in summer 2020. Every leftist activist in the US has at least one friend currently behind bars in horrific conditions.
14,000 activists were arrested and tried for #BlackLivesMatter, many who were handed hard time for small crimes, like setting something on fire. I have a friend who was handed 5 years for breaking a window under #terrorist charges.
In contrast, only 1,100 people were charged for trying to overthrow the government on #January5
#Israel’s military announced that the country’s border is under control after hours of fighting & airstrikes Tues. BrigGen Dan Goldfuss of the 98th Div said the military is now “moving into the offensive … to change the reality within #Gaza to prevent such a thing from happening again.” Israel has called up tens of thousands of #reservists to fight since the unprecedented cross-border assault by #Hamas militants over the wknd.
Biden delivered a forceful condemnation of #Hamas as a #terrorist group, & defended Israel's right to respond to the attack. Biden, who has long been a supporter of #Israel & also has had a long relationship w/ PM Benjamin #Netanyahu, said that he reminded the prime minister that both the #UnitedStates & Israel are #democracies & must act "according to the rule of law."
I've been of two minds about the impending US/ #Saudi/ #Israel deal. No longer. The whole idea of this alignment obviously terrifies #Iran, which clearly planned and supplied today's #terrorist mass #murder of Israeli civilians.

One question I have about Trump’s overnight attack on General Milley: Is he on the government’s witness list for Trump’s DC trial? He was a key Jan. 6 committee witness who said Trump privately admitted losing the election.
The reason it matters if Milley is a potential trial witness (which Trump would know based on discovery) is the part of his release conditions in which he specifically swore not to tamper with or intimidate witnesses:
