This Victorian engineering marvel was constructed in the late 1800s to help deal with sewage drainage issues on the low-lying land of Portsea Island, on which Portsmouth is located. This museum is open the last Sunday of most months.

This is our museum in Rushworth. This spot had a Mechanics' Institute since 1861 during the gold rush. This building is from 1913.
"Mechanic" then meant anyone applying skills & technology. And this British movement provided library & meeting place to encourage "rational recreation."
The museum is crammed with old things, including some great bits of machinery & old tech...

While it may look unassuming from the streets, the inside features three floors of contemporary gallery space shrouded in period brick, a call from the past.
The Saint Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art in central Glasgow with the Jubilee Block of Glasgow Royal Infirmary in the background. Designed by Ian Begg and built in the Scots Baronial style as a homage to the Medieval Bishop's Castle which once occupied the same site, the museum was first opened in 1993.

Today @WitcherClo helped me to fill a museum case with an array of Oxford Clay fossils. Part of a temporary display we're working on to show the journey of prehistoric sea creatures from Jurassic Sea Floor to Museum Store.
Ihr habt ein kleines #Museum und wollt ein volles Haus? Macht was mit #Schokolade! Unsere #Ausstellung in der #MaisonRurale mit der Live-Vorführung eines Chocolatiers und Stückchen zum Probieren sorgte gestern für dichtes Gedränge. Auch der selbstgebackene Schokokuchen in der Cafeteria war weg wie nix. Und ganze Familien hatten riesigen Spaß mit Animationen zum Mitmachen und spannenden Geschichten bei den Führungen. Vandaag nog eens een keer binnengestapt in het uitstekende museum Snijders&Rockoxhuis. Misschien niet het bekendste museum van Antwerpen, maar zeker een bezoekje waard.
Tot en met dit weekend kon je ook nog een kleine tentoonstelling zien met werken uit privé collecties. Daar gingen ook enkele mooie werken tussen.
