People following me on : you can zap my posts now!

I have implemented NIP-57 for @kosmos accounts, so if you host an lndhub.go instance, you could use this as well (for all of LNURL, Lightning Address, and Zaps). Or you could steal some of the Ruby/Rails code and add it to your own service.

Next, Bridgy Fed, the Fedivese bridge between ActivityPub and .

:)

So Ryan, thank you for this most valuable tool to bring people around the globe together in - creating (and curating, as you have) ***Bridgy_Fed is one of the very best things that the Fediverse has to offer people on both sides of the protocol divide, and I really don't think that there are enough Thank you's to go around for all of the selfless effort you've put into this service.

So as meek and perhaps insignificant as it may sound, THANK YOU!

Come va?

Threads users aged 18+ with public profiles can now choose to share their Threads posts to other ActivityPub-compliant servers -- which means they an federate across the Mosr Bridge! Here's how to follow opted-in accounts on Threads from Nosr.

At the moment, Threads federation only works one way, and it''s unclear how many users are opting in. Nonetheless, we know that growing the available network on is key for lowering the barrier to entry new users experience when joining decentralized platforms.

I get that is popular with people who don't want to share a server with anybody (and their rules). But don't lots of people achieve that with a stripped down implementation of ?

@wjmaggos nostr is not a bad project, but it's still using instances's just calling them relays and not promoting the community side of this. The conversations around this are not the best. People argue that and are both spoilers on there is some truth to this, though am more they are all and diversity is good, but please be honest path.

Interesting interview with Jack Dorsey. Why he left , the relationship with Twitter and what he thinks about .

Where I agree with him: The importance of identity handling and the need to divide (commercial) platform and protocol.

Former CEO of Twitter wanted to build a social protocol no-one can control, like SMTP or HTTP for social media. Bluesky’s ATProto was supposed to be an open source protocol that Twitter could eventually utilize, but then Musk happened and Bluesky started taking it to the wrong direction and everything fell apart in Dorsey’s mind.

A very revealing interview. I now see even more future in W3C’s ActivityPub.

Good Jack Dorsey interview: https://www.piratewires.com/p/interview-with-jack-dorsey-mike-solana - he just fails to see that Nostr or any other protocol won't survive without a hit application.

Bluesky's Paul Frazee's answer is a good take on it: https://bsky.app/profile/pfrazee.com/post/3ks3iv5iwqs22 - Bluesky wouldn't even exist if they were doing just protocol.
