@jeffjarvis Google? You mean use AI to research AI? We have actual experts here on the fediverse who you could reference directly, credentialed experts in the field, but you insist on pimping out the corporations that are sources for these very problems. When will you start working to rehabilitate your journalistic credibility?
The reason why we would love to see more accounts talk about composting on the #fediverse is simple.
You will be able to focus on your area and explain to local people what they can compost and where they can get their organic matter.
You can create a local community that will help your local area make a better place.
If we started this account it is for a main reason. Make people understand that by choosing to compost they can have a positive impact and do something about the #ClimateChange.
So creating a multitude of local accounts that will allow people to organize and make their area a better place is a very powerful thing to do for the #climate.
@jeffjarvis Why don’t you report on the good work from ProPublica? You spend a lot of energy promoting the long-dead myth that the NYT deserves respect. Their loss of journalistic credibility has been consistent and complete.
This is damning about The Times & A.G.:
"'All these Biden people think that the problem is Peter Baker or whatever reporter they’re mad at that day,' one Times journalist said. 'It’s A.G. He’s the one who is pissed [that] Biden hasn’t done any interviews and quietly encourages all the tough reporting on his age.'"

@jeffjarvis The NYT is a corporation, not a news organization. Any credibility they had evaporated in their partnership with Dick Cheney. Anyone critiquing them as a journalism outlet is participating in the undermining of our democracy. Critiquing the NYT as journalism is participating in disinformation.
@StillIRise1963 Her death was tragic and unnecessary. And it’s not like the water chased her down. She drove drunk into a pond on her own property after a party.
@StillIRise1963 Tesla is poorly designed and dangerous. But her death is not a clear example of that. Her death, no different from a much poorer woman in a second hand vehicle, is a drunk driving death.
@StillIRise1963 She couldn’t drive well enough to stay out of the pond. We can use other examples of Tesla failures to clearly show the dangerous flaws of the car. And the new truck is a complete disaster.
@jeffjarvis It’s not mainstream media, it’s corporate media. Imprecise language obscures the problem. Also the NYT has zero credibility at this point yet you promote their stories without any reference to that.
I get angrier & angrier about both Gannett and McClatchy dropping the Associated Press on the same day. First, this is obvious collusion: two companies dropping the AP at once. Newspapers' hedge-fund owners aren't even waiting for their lobbyist's lackey legislators to exempt them from antitrust w/JCPA; they just engage in it. Uh, FTC? And... 1/
@AnarchistArt Religion is any set of actions or texts that reflect metaphysical belief. A religion can have a membership of one, especially true when indigenous people are being wiped out by capitalism and colonialism. Fundamentalism and authoritarianism are not inherent to “religion” and are, of themselves harmful with or without religious/metaphysical context. At its best, religion is positioned to provide comfort, strength, and guidance to a practitioner.
The latest revelation about MAGA Republicans' plan to install Christian Nationalism as the law of the land ("Project 2025") is an online manifesto with policies to "abolish abortion" and "define marriage as the covenant union of a biological male (and) a biological female."
@indivisibleteam After donating through ActBlue a significant portion of my life is managing unwanted text begging that I cannot opt out of except one at a time, endlessly. So I no longer use ActBlue and I don’t “type STOP” I delete and “report junk” hoping in some small part to ruin the reputation of the sender with the carriers because Fuck You for not requiring consent for this unwanted text abuse.
@Teri_Kanefield People who think that the left and the right are separate but equal are a part of the problem. Study after study after study shows the conservative people react differently and get informed differently than progressive people. Specifically, conservative thinkers form a level of loyalty to information sources that liberal or progressive style thinkers do not. This makes it much easier to monetize and organize conservative thinkers. Please catch up.
My dad had a Black friend (now deceased), who was a descendent of Thomas Jefferson. She was so proud of it and I couldn't understand why. In my mind, it meant she thought her rapist was better than other Black people's rapists.🙄
@courtcan@StillIRise1963 Yes. And side by side with that immediate and generational trauma is the truth that “those” Black people are our siblings. It’s not a pleasant new age sentiment, it the genetic truth. These people before us are our family and they have been treated terribly. I try to listen, to let my actions be guided by the people who have been harmed. I’m just trying. I hope to improve.
