The Guardian laps up the nutballs doomsterism of Max Tegmark arguing the opposite of what is true: His talk of extinction from AI is macho distraction from real and present issues. God, I wish reporters would just Google before reporting on the AI boys.

@jeffjarvis Google? You mean use AI to research AI? We have actual experts here on the fediverse who you could reference directly, credentialed experts in the field, but you insist on pimping out the corporations that are sources for these very problems. When will you start working to rehabilitate your journalistic credibility?

The reason why we would love to see more accounts talk about composting on the is simple.

You will be able to focus on your area and explain to local people what they can compost and where they can get their organic matter.

You can create a local community that will help your local area make a better place.

If we started this account it is for a main reason. Make people understand that by choosing to compost they can have a positive impact and do something about the .

So creating a multitude of local accounts that will allow people to organize and make their area a better place is a very powerful thing to do for the .

This is damning about The Times & A.G.:
"'All these Biden people think that the problem is Peter Baker or whatever reporter they’re mad at that day,' one Times journalist said. 'It’s A.G. He’s the one who is pissed [that] Biden hasn’t done any interviews and quietly encourages all the tough reporting on his age.'"

@jeffjarvis The NYT is a corporation, not a news organization. Any credibility they had evaporated in their partnership with Dick Cheney. Anyone critiquing them as a journalism outlet is participating in the undermining of our democracy. Critiquing the NYT as journalism is participating in disinformation.

Prainbow,

Prainbow,

@StillIRise1963 Tesla is poorly designed and dangerous. But her death is not a clear example of that. Her death, no different from a much poorer woman in a second hand vehicle, is a drunk driving death.

Prainbow,

@StillIRise1963 She couldn’t drive well enough to stay out of the pond. We can use other examples of Tesla failures to clearly show the dangerous flaws of the car. And the new truck is a complete disaster.

@AnarchistArt Religion is any set of actions or texts that reflect metaphysical belief. A religion can have a membership of one, especially true when indigenous people are being wiped out by capitalism and colonialism. Fundamentalism and authoritarianism are not inherent to “religion” and are, of themselves harmful with or without religious/metaphysical context. At its best, religion is positioned to provide comfort, strength, and guidance to a practitioner.

I spent 5 years writing FAQ pages and "talking people off the ledge" each time there was a collective meltdown.

I stopped doing that because it is never ending.

I keep saying the same things over and over.

In 2021, when people were demanding indictments, I said, "indictments are the start of a long harrowing process."

I explained that trials are harrowing.

Judges make bad decisions.

Juries don't always get it right. A person can be guilty but be acquitted.

Prainbow,
@Prainbow@mastodon.social avatar

@Teri_Kanefield People who think that the left and the right are separate but equal are a part of the problem. Study after study after study shows the conservative people react differently and get informed differently than progressive people. Specifically, conservative thinkers form a level of loyalty to information sources that liberal or progressive style thinkers do not. This makes it much easier to monetize and organize conservative thinkers. Please catch up.

@courtcan @StillIRise1963 Yes. And side by side with that immediate and generational trauma is the truth that “those” Black people are our siblings. I try to listen, to let my actions be guided by the people who have been harmed. I’m just trying. I hope to improve.
