Wenn eine Malware auf Deinen Rechner gelangt, kann die nicht nur den aktuellen Bildschirm abgreifen, sondern auch sofort die historischen Daten. Das ist eine Sicherheitslücke. Wenn du irgendwann mal Deine Bankdaten eingegeben hast und ausversehen Dein Passwort auf dem Bildschirm war, war's das dann.
@pallenberg@pasci_lei Mit dem Opt-Out ist dann gerade für alte & kranke Leute, die nicht Computer-Affin sind echt ne miese Nummer, weil die das nicht leisten können. Die können eigentlich alle nur auf Windows 10 bleiben, bis die Sicherheitsupdates auslaufen, und danach sind sie gekniffen.
Technologieaffine Menschen sind maximal gernervt, wenn sowas passiert. Die Menschen, von denen ich spreche sind dem hilflos ausgeliefert.
@thomasfuchs BTW I originally didn't get why calling the main branch in git "master" was a problem, because in my mind it meant "skillful person", as in "master journeyman".
I have since learned to listen to the victims and change my mind - what it means to them takes priority, because it's harmful and rubbing their nose in it should be avoided.

Bisher ist es oft billiger, sich Dinge wie ein Handy neu zu kaufen, statt das alte reparieren zu lassen. Durch ein neues EU-Gesetz soll das aber bald anders werden.
@swr3 Wenn man einen neuen Rechner braucht und es ich leisten kann, am besten gleich FairPhone Handy oder FrameWork Laptop mit einem freien Betriebssystem drauf. Werde hoffentlich nie wieder ein neues Gehäuse kaufen müssen.
Also, include an option that does not require a smartphone app. There are people who don't have access to a smartphone, and there have been problems around the German Deutschlandticket because of that. So, don't repeat that mistake.

New spam bot wave with multiple accounts - search for hashtag x4 to find them all. Some of them also include auth links to mastodon instances, looks like a phishing attempt or something.
