Achievement unlocked. Went to the farmer's market on a combo of bus and bike. Learned many lessons...

@ai6yr I guess they think the bike just disappears into thin air when you enter, and magically re-appears for you to get home when you leave.

Reader, the description was wrong.

I only went back to look at this after I received something covered in very hot hot sauce and mustard, which I hate. Discovered this gem/nightmare.

stuartl,

@Kayla I think that comes under the banner of "false advertising" or "misrepresenting a product or service".

Use of AI to generate descriptions does not remove that responsibility of the vendor to accurately describe their products.

You receive a call on your phone.
The caller says they're from your bank and they're calling about a suspected fraud.

"Oh yeah," you think. Obvious scam, right?

The caller says "I'll send you an in-app notification to prove I'm calling from your bank."

Your phone buzzes. You tap the notification This is what you see.

Still think it is a scam?

@Edent The banks seem to think they can "technology" their way out of social problems.

Social problems (e.g. social engineering), require social solutions.

Sorry shareholders, that means keeping bank branches open, for longer, so people can meet, in person.

Report

A car belonging to Israel's far right minister, Ben-Gvir, has overturned after running a red light.

Ben-Gvir, one of his daughters, a driver & a bodyguard were injured, reportedly not seriously.

Local media claimed that Ben-Gvir "regularly orders his driver to commit traffic infractions”.

The accident was caught on video.

@DrALJONES Hopefully the idiot has learned his lesson… i.e. that running red lights is illegal for a very good reason.

ai6yr, to advice

Beekeeper's advice for the day: It's springtime, which is swarming season. If you do not want to have to deal with bees in your walls, make sure to either seal up or put mesh over any exterior hole in your house (especially your eaves and siding), particularly holes that are about penny to thumbtack sized.

It appears the copy of Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End I purchased at a thrift store the other day is NOT the standard Disney version. 🤔

I'm curious if this is an authorized dub or not, I now realize the cover looks like it's color copied... and the video quality looks like it was filmed off a movie screen from the back seat of a theater.

Fun and games with email today… Yahoo and Google have stepped up their filtering game, requiring stricter DKIM/DMARC.

That broke my workplace email addresses.

Consequently, I wound up reviving my old yahoo.com.au email address… fun and games remembering the password to an account I haven't used regularly in the better part of 25 years.

Thankfully, I must've logged in more recently, and changed the password… and crucially, stored it in the password manager. So it's working again.

My home mail server: delivers to the old Yahoo account, no problems at all.

    Meanwhile, Office365 + MailGuard… crickets chirping.

SPFv1 for both work's domains are correct, how the hell does a hobby server admin like me get something right that professionals like Microsoft get wrong?
