Bottom-trawling destroys #marine habitats and, by stirring up sediments, #research has shown this practice results in the release of enormous amounts of #CO2 into the #atmosphere globally each year (about 0.8% of total). Models indicate that 55% of the CO2 from stirring up the sea floor ends up in the #atmosphere after nine years.
We need to scale back this destructive practice
It's important to keep CO2 from escaping the #ocean floor and to preserve these habitats
