Mamma li turchi, anzi li cinesi?
Hillary Clinton attacked young people not once but twice last week— and #Tiktok is now making it their mission to go through her entire history which is “checkered” to say the least. Earth to #Democrats, she is hurting your cause.
@forrestguid@LALegault@EdCates@clawfulneutral focusing on Trump is completely misguided in my opinion. He didn't just appear out of nowhere, and people like Trump have always been around.
The reason that he's getting popular now is because the system is unravelling, and this makes it easy for opportunists and snake oil salesmen to get in power.
It's also worth noting that situation only got worse over the past three and a half years under Biden. The direction of travel is still the same.
So funktioniert Profilbildung.
🧵 #Tiktok has picked up Trudeau’s zionism comments, he is losing support among young people, rapidly. I am not sure what Liberal told him this was a good idea after they watched Biden’s support fall off a cliff but they need better advisors. #cdnpoli
@LALegault I think that he defends his « masters » : the United Kingdom.
By the way, who is the president of Canada ? If it is the king or the queen of Great Britain, that explains everything, as Balfour promised a land for Jewish people in Palestine.
“So I always keep this fake Hollywood money in my car so when a homeless person asks for money, then I give him like a fake $5 bill, so I feel good about myself, they feel good,” said McEntee in a clip with the caption “Just a joke. Everyone calm down #fyp.”
“And then, when they go to use it, they get arrested so I’m actually like helping clean up the community. You know, getting them off the street.”
Seems TechDirt's take on Biden's TikTok ban is similar to mine;
"Enacting this legislation has undermined this long standing, democratic principle. It has also undermined the U.S. government’s moral authority to call out other nations for when they shut down internet access or ban social media apps and other online communications tools."
#esc2024
I /expect/ (though am not an expert) that it's no more dangerous than any other corporate social media (less danger from hackers than anything Facebook has done in the past decade) which includes, even if it's a fine actor now, that may change once the corporation behind it gets a greater market share and needs to squeeze more revenue out of its users, regardless the way.
All that said, the sheer antagonism of UI/UX design that its website is has kept me away out of spite, regardless.
TikTok is suing the United States government in an attempt to stop the enforcement of last month’s bill, which would ban the app in the U.S unless its Chinese owner ByteDance sells up.
The lawsuit argues that the bill is an “unprecedented violation” of the First Amendment, and says that invoking national security concerns is not a sufficient reason for restricting free speech. NBC News has more, but we’re keen to hear what you think. Do you agree with the bill?
@TechDesk I‘ld like to use #TikTok by challenging them with their behavior directly … I don’t think that avoiding free speech is a good strategy to talk … especially I‘ld like to use the hashtag #reclaimtiktok, what is much bigger on the network …
