Putin and the Republicans will leave the Ukrainians defenseless against the Russian barbaric onslaught!
I think many MAGA believe they will still have rights and the rest of us will be under their thumbs. They are foolish, but that was the goal of homeschooling and dumbing down education generally - to create an army of angry, gullible, vicious fools.

@Npars01@lin11c@Free_Press which is why no one who is not registered to vote should be allowed to make political donations (which, of course, automatically means that no corporation would be allowed to), and that no person who is registered to vote should be allowed to make a larger donation than the poorest person registered to vote could reasonably afford.
Otherwise, the rich (and enemies of the state) choose the candidates.
@simon_brooke@Npars01@lin11c@Free_Press here's my completely impractical version: if a public corp wants to engage in any political activity (not just donations but also lobbying) they have to declare a dividend. Individual shareholders can approve (without tax consequences) the use of that dividend for political activity, or they can take the cash. Mutual funds, holders in street name, have to take the dividend as cash unless they get approval from individual share holders otherwise.
@dan131riley if you let corporations donate, then you are in effect allowing the decision makers of those corporations donate more than individual voters can afford to donate.
Allowing the rich to donate more than the poor gives the rich undue influence in politics.

We must remove money from politics. All of it. All the dark money, all the small and large dollar donations, all the gifts, grifts and the entirety of non-public monies that enrich media corporations, think tanks, and retail politics. That includes an end to lobbying and PACs. To paid political advertising.
An end to the influence of money, should be our cry.

American citizens need to put their foot down. Foreign governments and billionaires are buying our homes, farmland, businesses, and GQP “politicians”. What a dirty word that is now.

I read about these schemes in regards to the Koch monsters and it is horrifying. They have to torture people even after they are dead. What sociopaths. The entire tax-exempt system must be scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up. Can we do it? How the hell did it get like this?

US failure, caused by treacherous GOP politicians & those who vote for them, will be epic tragedy...with repercussions in Europe that cannot be easily, or possibly?, be reversed. @havvyhh2@Free_Press Unfortunately Russia did the same here, treacherous and rightwing conservatives, fascists and outright nazis are either destabilizing countries or even are in power, most if not all of them funded by Russia. We're as impacted by all those social media campaigns and media corruption too, Neoliberalism did the rest - hell, in Germany we even got a constitutional ban on making new debts that OBVIOUSLY bites our asses now. We need to declare an emergency to circumvent that. 😡
