We’re going to get a new dishwasher soon and looking at the specs on my #ebike, affordable trailers I could buy, and dishwashers at Ikea it is absolutely possible for me to tow this thing home myself.
We’ll probably get it delivered but man I really want to be that guy towing a dishwasher on a #bike. #BikeTooter
@thedorismith@enobacon I know people use bromptons for their kids - like, when they're preteens the 20" wheels and very adjustable seat height works great instead of a kid bike. Would something like cargo bikes from folding bike manufacturers work? Bike Friday's Haul-a-day, Tern's HSD & GSD, etc?
@Andres4NY@thedorismith you mean 16in wheels, though other folders are typ. 20. Some from Lectric seem to have a closer reach, as I mentioned a handlebar swap can help that. Here's my 12yo ~5'4" on the supercargo, swept bars not stock. I'm 5'10".
what's with the #eBike obsessed bot/"Name12345" accounts on the bird site lately? A bunch of them had the same cleavage-laden profile pics and links to "dating" sites, but some are just faceless and very into e-bikes?
It's really pouring now. 🌧️ Not riding my #bike today. It's fine. I love rain. Can't have everything, right? 🤪
I'm thinking I'll use Big Bike ⚪🚲 for the out of town ride on Monday -- ±40km each way. Battery power can do about 60km in ideal-ish conditions. I intend to ride on #PAS zero as much as possible.
If I take Grey ⚫🚲 it can supposedly do 100km but... I dunno. Should be enough. But it's no good for me on PAS zero.
Me thinks ⚪🚲 is still a better ride for long trips. 🤔 #eBikes#bikes
People who say they need a car because it rains sometimes, have you tried just carrying an umbrella or dressing your #eBike as one? I just rode a 1.5 miles round trip to pickup the kid from school, and my shoes were completely dry the whole time. Keep the DOTs' filthy road water off of you and getting slightly sprinkled with rain is fine. #Portland#pdxBikes#bikeTooter#pdxtst
Another great afternoon #volunteering at Beics Ogwen a community bike workshop. Ian was teaching a member how to press fit new bearings whilst I serviced an older Marin and worked on a mid motor Trek #ebike conversion. #bikes
Adopting #RankChoice voting because you wanted better elections is like buying a car because you want convenient and reliable mobility at rush hour. It seems like it will do what you want but the math just doesn't work like that. #GeometryHatesCars#STARvoting is the #eBike you actually wanted and we already have the infrastructure.
Electrek: Why Fox News wants you to be afraid of electric bikes
"e-bikes are exactly the kind of change that Fox News would vilify – a low-cost technology that helps Americans of all socioeconomic levels get around without a clutching dependence on Big Oil and Big Auto."
Finally got the battery for the #Tongsheng#ebike motor mounted where I want it. The cargo platform flexes a bit under the battery so I need to add some kind of additional support. Took the front box off for repainting. #CargoBike#ebikeConversion#BikeTooter
bike check / mountain check for the yuba #supercargo with the little #hillTopper#eBikes kit. Rode from Barbur up Terwilliger to downtown, around with the @bikeloudpdx#pdxBikes#eBike policy ride, and back out Barbur from 1st. The battery indicator was red (of blue, green, red) when I got home but it never faded on the long steady climb out Barbur, 10 minutes for 2.5 miles with 200+ft elevation (ODOT, get your cars off of our essential historically-streetcar-graded bikeways)
@enobacon bafang 350w crank mount motor got me up the steepest hills and up to 60km/h. I couldn't afford the Bosch one, and it's 250w is limited by everything so 250w is when it's not too hot, the birds are chirping, you're not going too quickly....
@davedave this is a small 350W hub (hilltopper) which I really want to be regen-braking capable and then add more power via the crank drive motor (tsdz2 if it will fit or something low-profile under the level-ish bottom bracket tube (the rear right chainstay drops down, maybe too much for that motor.)
As it is, the 350W hub spins out sometimes on bumps and metal plates, even just steep hills if unladen, so we can't send more power to that without more traction (suspension fork + fat tire maybe)
