As my energy and abilities have grown, I'm making it my business to "become nobody" according to the teachings of a man named Ram Dass. Sparrows are small and innocuous. Nobody really notices them. This beautiful Chinese art hangs in my bedroom.
@cliffwade Mine was cribbed from Merriam-Webster (the dictionary publisher) who had a really droll social media person active on the pre-nazi site. This image popped up in a discussion of whether a dictionary ought to prescribe rules for correct word usage, or rather simply catalog the ways in which words are used in practice. The image was captioned:
Mine is a photo I took of a thistle when the family visited Scotland on a three-generation ancestral pilgrimage. It was a misty gray day and we were hiking past an equally gray stone wall when this pretty pop of color interrupted the monotone palette. I aspire to be that pop of color in people’s day.

@cliffwade I use the same handle pretty much anywhere I can, and wanted some sort of branding to tie it all together. So I developed a rather plain logo. My avatar here is a version of that, only abbreviated for better visibility in its typical thumbnail form.
For alt text purposes: my avatar is a white circle with the capital letter H twice within the circle and a red line vertically down the middle, between the two H's.
Mine was taken outside the doors of the #Indiana Senate. I'm leading a crew of gender-diverse people to oppose Indiana's monstrous ban on medical care for #trans youth.
The older woman standing next to me was amazing. She was at every hearing, rally, event. Just showing up and asking what she could do.
It was a grueling and traumatizing fight. But I'm grateful to be able to fight at a high level alongside such people. And I probably will until I die.
I shared an office with her a million years ago and have followed her ever since. I like that it's a bit whimsical and cartoony, slightly undermining the self-seriousness of anything I might say. I think it's fun and I haven't found anything I like more.
My profile picture is simply a picture of myself and then edited with AI software to automatically create something. This is one of numerous images it provided, and was one of the better ones, along with my previous profile picture that I used for a while.
@codrusofathens Nice! This is one thing I dislike about the Fediverse, as I just see the default image for you. I see your actual profile image if I open up your profile directly instead of via my instance.
@cliffwade It's me as a baby! I have issues with how much information is made publicly available online (photos, age, etc), so this felt like a good compromise. Also, I think it's funny.

I was my brother's best man recently. For months I asked him. to tell me what to wear to the wedding as I'm in the wedding party. He said, he'd tell me later. Months passed. I told him, "If you don't tell me in time, I am wearing a tuxedo t-shirt to the wedding."
He thought I was bluffing.
I was not. I bought the t-shirt and texted him a pic saying, "Look I finally got my tux." He sent me the tux specs he wanted for the wedding within the hour. :Hehe:
@cliffwade It was! I also sent the same t-shirt to my Dad & brother who texted him pics throughout the day of them in their tuxedo t-shirt too saying they were ready for the wedding.
@cliffwade it's the social profile badge I use pretty much everywhere on social media. It represents me and my live for gadgets and looks pretty damn dope.
@cliffwade well. It's me in a 48x48 grid, because #ChronoTrigger uses such a grid for its portraits. But I still don't even try to mimic the style of the game so the grid is enough for now
