May 2024 greet you, shining and bright 🌻
We face a year that promises to be eventful. #Fediverse has grown beyond an incubating seed, and now starts to sprout and grow deep roots into our society. We have great opportunity to nurture collaborative environments that speak to our humanity, and foster online spaces where people unite.
Now, as never before, we must bundle efforts to cultivate ecosystems that empower our grassroots nature.
We face big challenges. Our Fediverse is being discovered by corporations as a place where they may conduct their business.
We know the dangers that #Hypercapitalism entails. Our space evolved by the People and for the People, and we want to keep it that way. Our culture forms slowly and organically.
Our technology is decentralized, but so too must our open ecosystem be. 2024 should see a Standards Process arise to help increase interoperability and guarantee all that.
