In January 1950, the first of seven Captain Future short stories, „The Return of Captain Future“, was published in the „Startling Stories“ magazine. In contrast to the more lighthearted novels, the short stories are quite dark and grim.

I can happily report that Intervention by Julian May continues to live up to my expectations and memories about how good it is. It’s a remarkable book bang in the middle of my favourite story arc. We’re talking millions of years of time and intergalactic going’s on.
Julian May should be more well known. She’s was a fabulous writer. With many male pseudonyms. A reflection of the time she was active.
What are your thoughts on "His Master's Voice" by Stanislaw Lem? I read 3 chapter so far and how my god is it dense. Should I keep reading or just admit that his style of prose is not for me?
