It's a voice input app that does voice recognition completely on your phone, so your spoken words never leave it.
Depending on chosen recognition quality it might be slower than GAFAM solutions. But well...
Install the APK from their site or add their repo to your F-Droid client (Neo Store recommended here).
Strava alternative that is open source and privacy focused, it can even just be a private route logger with no cloud. Would be awesome if available on #fdroid
I've recently signed up to the privacy-preserving service Proton. All the email, calendar, drive, VPN, and other services seem to hang off the proton.me domain. I wanted to download the Android apps to my phone - without using the Google Play Store. The VPN app is on F-Droid but none of the others are. So, […]
So I was looking for a #foss#camera app. Open Camera is great but is too overloaded with features for my everyday usage. Also, I like Material You with it's simple unified UI.
So, since I'm on @iode I realized they host an Aperture fork on their #fdroid instance. Did not realise up until now but greatly appreciate it. The few unofficial APKs flying around online aren't optimized for specific phones.
Very nice, thanks for that (and your OS in general 🙂) https://f-droid.org/packages/com.iode.aperture/
Je viens de parcourir quelques fils dans un #forum, celui de #FDroid, pour voir si je trouvais des choses pertinentes sur un sujet que je suis en train d'approfondir.

QT @pluralistic - Hard to overstate how enshittified Google Maps has become. Went looking for my local locksmith. Gmaps shows 20+ fake locksmith referral scam outlets and doesn't even register the real locksmith, despite being fully visible in Street View.
Instead, a red pin on the shop identifies it as a fake locksmith scammer. The real locksmith - which has been there SINCE 1942 (!!) and is a verified merchant - doesn't even show up.
This week in F-Droid (TWIF) was published again :fdroid:
We try to explain the "app was developed for an older version of android and can not be upgraded automatically" banner for some apps (including F-Droid itself).
Also, we talk a bit about the current localization problems on our website.
On the apps side:
new Aurora Store version
Element and SchildiChat were updated to fix two vulnerabilities.
The Play Store has started notifying app updates for apps installed with F-Droid, and as expected, they cannot be updated. However, the Play Store still shows those failed updates. Does anyone know why this might be happening? #android#fdroid#playstore#update
