Can we give a shout-out to out awesome #fosstodon admins who keep it running 24/7 and allows me to have a good social media experience in the age of enshittification?
Hey'all! We're BlueBuild, a FOSS community project focused on making the customization of image-based atomic Linux distributions a breeze. (atomic @fedora, @UniversalBlue
I'm Thang and I'm a 26-year-old software engineer from Vietnam.
👍 What I'm good at: #Ruby, #Javascript
📝 What I'm learning: #Rust, #AWS, #Terraform
🔜 What I'm planning to learn in the near future: Qt6 with C++ or Python (to overcome my Electron addiction)
Folks, please go and use this gentleman's home grown search engine. He literally runs it out of his basement. Mikkel is on Matrix as well, and you can message him.
Obligatory yearly toot about #FOSS so I can stay on #Fosstodon 🎉
I saw the other day that German state Schleswig-Holstein is going to switch to fully #FOSS. Which is great and hope it works out for them.
Having set up a fully (F)OSS (desktops, apps, servers, etc) IT env for a large non-profit, might I suggest proper enterprise support instead of a lone coffee-addicted sysadmin who tries to keep systems together with hopes, prayers and duct tape? 🥲
@mike@kev is there a discussion or post or something somewhere about the official #Fosstodon#Threads position?
I know there was an announcement about it like 9 months ago when it was first announced, but my searches of the website and those hashtags hasn't turned up anything yet.
Things seem to be integrating now because I just saw a threads user on my feed and replied to them. Not surprisingly my post hasn't shown up on threads.com yet.
OK, so I officially registered #Fosstodon on libera.chat. I'm going to be occasionally dropping in there (don't expect @kev though). If you're wanting to chat, that's where I'll be (but not all the time). Anybody is welcome!
My question to you is:
Does it also not work in other applications?
Is this a known bug?
If yes, where should I report it? To pixelfed, Tusky or somewhere else?
It may be a good idea to split my next software project from my personal page, where I express thoughts, people may not like or understand differently from what I intended.
In 2022, I thought about joining @fosstodon, but I did not want to write english only.
Is #fosstodon a place for open source software projects, too?
Or is it more for developers behind projects?
I would use it as a place to document decision making processes and ask for opinions. Matrix is not very good for this, I think.
Time for my one post a year. Hello again, and to let anyone know who cares, #GarudaLinux is still my OS of choice, and I do #linuxgaming on said OS, love it, and have no major issues of daily driving it since I logged in to #Fosstodon last ( july 2023 i think?) Anyways, peace to you all.
