Political webcomic I quickly drew on my phone right below I step into the shower. Wild how self-deluded the "Biden and Trump are eQuAlLy BaD" self-centered privileged children are. It's easy to pretend like it doesn't matter who you (don't) vote for if you're not part of a marginalized demographic who will suffer far, far, far more at the hands of Trump (or are already suffering and somehow don't think it'll get even worse). The time to vote against Biden was in the primaries--in the general election, a third party or non-vote IS A VOTE FOR TRUMP, and no amount of smarmy foot-stomping is going to change this.
I know it's so much harder than not bothering to vote, but the way you stop the US from funding genocide is ORGANIZING, is physically showing up to protests, is continued calls and letters to your elected officials, is working AHEAD of voting day to #GetOutTheVote for your chosen progressive candidate. If not voting or wasting your vote is what will cause the "revolution" you dream of, then we would have revolted a long time ago. #voteBlue#voteBlueNoMatterWho
Minority Rule Is Threatening American Democracy Like Never Before... Ari Berman in Mother Jones: May+June 2024 Issue
"...The timing of our modern retreat from democracy is no coincidence. The nation is now roughly 20 years away from a future in which white people will no longer be the majority. New multiracial coalitions are gaining ground in formerly white strongholds like Georgia. To entrench and hold on to power, a shrinking conservative white minority is relentlessly exploiting the undemocratic elements of America’s political institutions while doubling down on tactics such as voter suppression, election subversion, and the censoring of history. This reactionary movement—which is significantly overrepresented because of the structure of the Electoral College, Congress, and gerrymandered legislative districts—has retreated behind a fortress to stop what it views as the coming siege.
This is one of the many sessions you’ll find at SRF – the hub for our fight to protect church-state separation and inclusive religious freedom and to stop Christian Nationalism. I encourage you to sign up to attend SRF virtually for this breakout session and so many other essential discussions.
Please keep an eye out for more information on Project 2025 in the coming months, and I hope you can join us on Monday, April 15, at 11:15 a.m. ET!

Dear fellow climate organizers and supporters —
No matter where you live, please attend and bring a friend on 4/15. We will learn and we will do. JCAN hopes you will feel empowered to then schedule and mount an Environmental Voter Project (EVP) session for your own community. EVP programs are ideal to engage your fellow activists — during Passover, as an EarthDay event, during EarthWeek — indeed, multiple times from now to November!

JCAN has worked with EVP in past election cycles, and we think they are great, esp. for any non-profit groups. Their research is deep, so the volunteers' time goes to maximum leverage: our 'little' efforts add up to a proven, substantial difference.
With primaries happening across the country and the general election in less than eight months, now is the time to gear up and prepare to help those in your communities vote this election cycle.
There is a lot you can do between now and November 5, 2024 to engage in this crucial election.
Join us on April 10th to kick off our 2024 Promote the Vote, Protect the Vote campaign, and learn more about resources you can use to help you, your community, and everyone access the ballot.
Want to help get out the vote, but hate the idea of knocking on strangers' doors or making cold calls? Try writing postcards! Best of all, the research shows it's actually effective!
So I wanted to put in at least some effort to try to stem the most likely inevitable march into full blown fascism in the US, so I signed up for call banking and other volunteer organizing and training with #VoteSaveAmerica to #GetOutTheVote... But they're doing everything by Eastern standard time and setting meetings in what would be early evening for them, so they're all in the middle of the work day for us West coasters 🙃 I'll do my best to try to make it to some meetings, but sure would be nice if they'd be a little more conscientious of people who have to work (and I'm way more flexible than most). We can't all be millionaire podcast bros.
Today is the LAST DAY for voters in Ohio, Virginia, and a few other states to cast their ballots!
If you're free today, you can join an in-person phone bank from noon to 3 PM to make calls to Ohio or Virginia to help #GetOutTheVote, or a couple of California swing districts. https://indivisiblesf.org/vote
impress on people that they are #voter is part of their identity
invite people to ask for whatever help will make voting easier -- child care, transportation, information about where/when to go and what they might need to bring
I hope Virginians turn out in huge numbers for the state legislative elections on November 7. If the GOP in VA flips the state Senate, that would give Glenn Youngkin a GOP trifecta and he would undoubtedly start implementing a right-wing agenda. The off-year VA elections are considered a bellweather for 2024. It would be great if they could pull off a blue wave like they did in 2019 which would further signal momentum going into 2024.

Andy Beshear, #Kentucky governor, is running for reelection in November. He’s done a great job for the state and is an important Democratic hold for protecting reproductive rights, voting rights, and the right to read, be, and love what and who you want.
The 4th of July seems like a good time for some reminders:
If you’re eligible to vote and aren’t registered, register. If you are registered, check your registration and make sure it’s up to date. Correct your address if you’ve moved. Make sure you’re still registered. Some states purge rolls without informing you.
Register people to vote. Talk to people you know about voting and elections.

Know what elections you have upcoming and set reminders for them. Ballotpedia has excellent information and tools for that.

If you hear or read someone wondering “what have Biden/Harris done for America,” point them to the official (and astounding) record of this administration’s achievements at
This year, the entire Virginia state legislature is up for election.
The state has been redistricted, and many voters will need election guidance. Currently, Democrats control the Senate, while Republicans control the House. There’s a lot at stake. Virginia’s governor is a Republican. If Democrats lose the Virginia legislature, the Republican party will have complete control of the state.
Looking for a way to help this year’s elections? Here’s one: #GetOutTheVote
#House NOW holding 1st of 2 votes to re-refer Articles of #Impeachment against President Biden introduced by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) to the Judiciary and Homeland Security Cmtes. This vote is to close debate followed by a vote to send the Articles of Impeachment to Cmtes. 1/...
The Ohio GOP has gerrymandered themselves into a supermajority – and that supermajority is very unhappy that a petition from Ohio citizens allowing a vote protecting reproductive choice will be on the ballot in November. So they rushed through a constitutional amendment to try and raise the threshold for passage from a simple majority to 60%.
Yeah, Ohio Democrats are mobilized and fighting hard on this one – and need your help and support to get the word out to every voter in #Ohio.

Listening to voter registration panels while I address postcards to Wisconsin voters. Will staple some yard signs together later for delivery this weekend.
