Thank you Governor Pritzker has signed a ban on book bans.

Illinois becomes the first state in the U.S. to ban book bans. Citing a “vitriolic strain of white nationalism,” Gov. JB Pritzker signed the measure withholding state grant money from libraries if they ban books. https://www.wbez.org/stories/illinois-bans-book-bans/6239c73d-4ce5-451f-b97b-7dc73161f321

Oh look!

Former governor, Blago has some thoughts on today's new indictment.

This guy never misses a grift.

And he never goes away.

So, for those who do not know, this dipshit was caught on an FBI wire trying to sell then-President Elect 's Illinois State Senate seat.

It's Shakedown Time in !

I really doubt that the would stay in Downtown Chicago and, if even needs to be said, the 5th Floor is just being used to leverage additional tax breaks on their newly-acquired properties in Arlington Heights.

Classic stuff by team owners.

At least if the Bears move out, the city can finally turn that surface parking lot to the south into a public park or something...

adamjcook,

@serpicojam Yup. I hear you.

This has been a long-time coming, though. The McCaskey's (the owners) want their own stadium and they want a big stadium (and a whole theme park now, really).

Fair asks I guess, except the State of was always going to pay handsomely for it either way.

The fact is... in ... I have no idea where they could even put a new stadium at the size they want - let alone adjacent to any new amenities they want.

On my recent visit to Casey, IL I came across a lot where several old trucks were parked. Yea!

I used my Pentax Super-Takumar 50mm F1.4 lens to take these photos. It is very soft when wide open and adds a little yellow due to the very slightly radioactive thorium in the glass. Works great when going for that vintage look!

Here's a good article about this unique lens: https://www.tsangyatho.com/post/takumar50mm14

Casey IL Part 2

Casey IL is known for having the "world's largest" version of several items.

I took several photos under harsh sunlight and decided they looked better with a black & white conversion.

As a former (and born in ), no organization hates more than the Illinois Policy Institute.

No organization has done more in that state to hollow out protections and support for minority and under-represented groups.

It figures that clowns from there would be attached to this.

Danville, Illinois City Council passed an ordinance to prohibit the mailing or shipping of medication abortion pills.

"An Illinois city on Tuesday banned the mailing or shipping of abortion pills, defying the state’s Democratic attorney general and the American Civil Liberties Union, who have repeatedly warned that the move violates Illinois law’s protection of abortion as a fundamental right."

Public and school are only eligible for state funding if they “adopt the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights” or “develop a written statement prohibiting the practice of banning books or other materials within the library or library system.“

FYI, here's the Library Bill of Rights.
