My perusal of social media has brought me numerous profound "explanations" from Americans on why they've given up on democracy and I'm down.
For example, “I don’t want to bother voting...” “I tried voting and nothing changed…” “Both sides are corrupt…” “Biden is too old to do anything…” “Biden didn’t fix [fill in with one of many pet projects] so I’m not voting for him again…” “We need to overthrow capitalism before I vote…”
If we allow democracy and the rule-of-law to falter too far than our best chance to get meaningful #ClimateAction will be gone. #JustSayin
BTW, I hate the two-party system that I inherited which is why I've worked towards getting more Americans access to Ranked Choice Voting which is the best way I see to break their stranglehold, but there is a distinct, demonstrable difference between our two major parties' policies on many important issues.
NEW: A dozen members of the conspiratorial “Save the Children Convoy” were invited into the House of Commons today claiming to be “VIP” guests of Conservative MP Arnold Viersen.
Viersen’s office declined comment when I called them. Shortly after, the convoy people suddenly got kicked out of Parliament.
