@moviesandtv BTW I did find out that narwhal.city is running #Hitide 0.14.0 and #Lotide 0.14.3-rc.1, while lotide.fbxl.net federates just fine and is running #Hitide 0.14.0-dev and #Lotide 0.15.0-dev, it's likely that the federation issues I've experienced have been resolved and the instance just needs to be updated.
@kingmongoose7877 I'll do a lil bit of testing from narwhal.city today, it runs #Lotide which I've found to be fairly stable for the most part. Please tell me if the issue pops back up when I post from there again
@taur10 There's also #Lotide which is more minimalistic - kinda like #hackernews. You can subscribe to both Lemmy communities and Kbin magazines from it.
@mikey yes, you can be followed on Lemmy, but not from Lemmy 🙂 you can be followed from other projects that allow following individual accounts.
I did follow a few accounts that, err, seemed to deal with the previous political majority better back in the day 🙂
@Senokir In general they are, at the very least, hostile to folks who do so. It's a main reason I use #Lotide (via narwhal.city) rather than #Lemmy (although there are newer #Lemmy instances out there now that I'm considering joining eventually)
There's lots of talk right now about how #Reddit alternatives such as #Lemmy, #kbin and #Lotide fit into the overall picture of the #Fediverse, with some calling these link-aggregation sites collectively the "Threadiverse". But how does #Pinetta fit into the mix?
Much like a link aggregator, Pinetta allows users to collect and comment on various things like links, text, images, video, and so on. In that sense, it will interact almost seamlessly with federated link aggregators. The main difference, of course, is in the user interface. Pinetta will have a number of modes that users can choose to display content:
As a "feed" chronologically or ranked based on most engaging posts (based on favourites and boosts);
As a "grid" similar to how #Pixelfed displays images in profiles;
As a "masonry" layout - much like how #Pinterest displays pins by default;
As a "mood board", which will allow users to arrange pins visually to their liking in a freeform 2D layout.
Like what you're reading? So do we. Give us a follow and star our repos on Codeberg to keep up with development!
The lemmyverse sounds perfect, but it ignores alternatives like kbin etc. It would be better if we didn't end up with the situation we have with Mastodon where people assume Mastodon is the fediverse....
I'm hosting and running a Lemmy just for myself, and am having no problem with it. Lemmy is great. But I'm looking to branch out, and see what else exists out there.
Hmm I'm considering moving away from #Lotide relatively soon. It's okay, but a bit barebones, and there hasn't been much development over the past year or two.
Only question is, do I switch to #Lemmy, or #Kbin? I've been against #Lemmy for awhile but now they made the word blacklist optional.
[Meta] Can the timestamps be fixed for !moviesandtv@lemmy.film?
Hello,...
China tightens access to Tiananmen Square while 32 are detained in Hong Kong (www.npr.org)
What do we call the Lemmy/Kbin Universe?

Looking for an entry to the Fediverse that's made for a single user. Preferably Reddit/Lemmy-like.
