Being a printmaker with a 3D printer means that when you forgot to get (or make) a card and you've only got two hours before an event you've got things covered.

Video from my last live set at Iklectik online now: https://youtu.be/1EfWWZHavuI?si=2QSbyFI_MK6x02xE
I included various new devices and builds in the performance, some of which worked better than others.

  • worm gear long-loop percussion
  • new modular synth sound sources (slight bugs)
  • magnetic tape record (minor failure)
  • multiple webcams for projection and documentation
  • strobe light kick drum trigger via rotator cuff (mostly ineffective)

Enjoyed the performance though, great atmosphere in a packed room - nice you can see folks dancing in the video. A great send off to Iklectik's Waterloo space (this was the penultimate event there).

Elektrische Zahnbürste von K1 war kaputt. Aufgeschraubt, Akku mit Glitzerband wieder festgemacht. Zugeschraubt. Schrubbt wie vorher, jetzt aber mit Glitzern in den Augen der Kinder. 🤩

@2du @christopher i recommend a stronger contrast, I was rushed. Literally popped it out an hour before leaving. This is em, overkill, a chunk of 10 guage 304SS I had sitting around... using a ruler to do the grids real fast with pencil, and looking back n forth at the image generated. If I do again I will use brushed or angel hair finish because the shine wonks the code in other than ideal lighting. Or I will use my mini CNC... if I can get it pumping. !!!!

If somebody knows the person who invented this kind of electrical speed connector, please buy them a drink. Like daily.

Also a big thank you to late Albert J. Swanson for inventing the speed square.

About three years ago we replaced our copper kitchen sink with something else.

I put the copper sink in the basement because I wanted to sell it for scrap.

And then I never did, but recently a friend of mine started doing metal casting, and then posted "Does anyone have scrap copper they don't want?"

So I told him I'd sell it to him at half the going scrap value amount.

And yesterday he picked up the sink, and then melted it into copper ingots. Cool!

I have a problem. I'm trying to some replacement wood game pieces, and I haven't figured out how to replicated embossed red lettering on wood without embossing tools... Any ideas out there?

Knitting progress update! Having taught myself to knit over the weekend thanks to a very generous human giving me some needles and yarn, I have leapt in and am really enjoying it.
I'm working on a blanket in stages - the squares aren't even or matching but I don't care, they're pretty, I'll make it work!
I also knitted a hat and in doing so discovered patterns are very confusing to me (at least at the moment).

3 squares of knitting, each a different colourway and slightly different size, that have been stitched together.
Alexis knitting some purple and blue yarn while on a train. She is wearing a yellow face mask, pink jumper, pink dungarees and a knitted pink hat.
A selection of 5 balls of yarn and 3 sets of knitting needles on a table. On top of the pile is a handwritten note reading "all of these yarns are double knit (dk) weight."

There are many ways to survive erasure. One is craft. Artisanship and making are powerful tool to render diverse cultures and identities, those intangible things that imperial colonialism fears and aims to delete for ever.

The Taatreez, is an ancestral embroidery practice, that helps the Palestinian people not just to tell, but especially not to forget, their own story: one stitch at a time
