, it's the last day to submit testimony for the city budget for the next year. Ask for & traffic-calming hardware. Your testimony can simply be “Please fully fund programs that build and support multimodal transportation, and traffic calming with infrastructure to protect people walking and biking. Monitoring should hold all bureaus accountable for prioritizing resources to transition Portland away from fossil fuels and reduce our GHG emissions."

This is what my vegan lunch looked like before I destroyed it with my face. A vegan burger with a house-made black bean patty. I’m not gluten-free, but those onion rings are. And they were hella good.

The 7th First Annual Ladds 500 took place in southeast Portland today and it was absolutely amazing. Well over 500 people (estimated!) pedaled circles around Ladd Circle Park until they hit 100 miles. They began at 10:00 am and some of them are probably still pedaling as I type this.

today I went for a ride around to see how police direct traffic when somebody biffs their garbage truck's hydraulic oil all over an arterial connector. Apparently they only have two cops and no signage to work with, this probably needs some PBOT () staff involved.

Here are the cities I care most about in North America and in The Netherlands.

#Portland #Seattle #Utrecht Americans and the #Dutch have vastly different blends of transit, bike, and car.

PBOT is asking you to tell them what you think of the car-free streets on NW 13th (the NW examiner recently ran an article about how "Unmanaged public seating sometimes attracts unwelcome occupants", which seems to have spurred Mapps into again looking for any solutions to homelessness except housing.)

New at bl.ag online, 'Bringing a Gilded Victorian Transom Window Back to Life'.

Visit https://bl.ag/transom to learn from @ajsignsdorset about the techniques used to create the original sign, and the work he's done to make it just like new again.

Short silent video panning from left to right across and then from bottom to top of a gilded Victorian transom window. The ornate Tuscan letters have scrollwork in the centres and give the name of the house, Rosslyn, and the window also has a decorative gilded border.

Women are constrained in their use of public space, especially women who bike.

We need to stop tolerating aggressive behavior from people who drive against people who bike.

Tree at Gabriel Park, Portland, Oregon (2017)

Taken with a Bronica S2 camera and Fuji Acros film, printed using Moersch Easylith chemicals. I believe I used old Foma paper for the darkroom print, but I don't remember the specifics.

I only printed perhaps half a dozen (or fewer) images using the Lith process; this was the most successful one. I've always intended to do more. I love the way Lith prints look. So much texture.

"criminalizing people for poverty, illness, & disability does not make our city safer.

& funding for homeless services should go toward housing & wraparound services. We should not be directing tax dollars to the criminalization of the people in our community who are most in need of support.

...save the date for a public hearing on Thursday, April 18 at 2 p.m. We and other housing advocates will be arguing against wasting anti-homelessness dollars..."
