President Handsome Joe Biden is in town today, and my transit ride across town was about 2X as long as usual; I wonder... !

Light rail stopped for at least 15 minutes between stations with no explanation - I was between Stadium and SODO, which is above ground. Hmmm....

To all my local and folks, there is a good chance we may see the Northern Lights (Aurora) tonight. Look north late tonight, keep your good night vision and maybe even get out of light polluted areas!

I'll be looking up!

Whelp, here's a second proofing release of the vector-graphics based map re-implementation.It's substantially finished now I think? I made a couple of very small path corrections since the last proofing release and this one has text copy and icons and a legend.

If anyone's up for helping me verify it against the last bitmap release, that'd be appreciated. That version is as always at https://github.com/solarbirdy/NorthshoreBikeMap/

Wowza. Booking a Lyft right now to downtown shows $75. Yellow Cab App shows $30-40. Am gonna give the new app a whirl and cross my fingers that the fare isn't ridiculous with a meter. (One thing I don't love about cabs.)

Last time I took a cab from the airport, it was fully $20 less than the same trip had been a week earlier with Lyft. The rideshare apps are seeming like no longer such a good deal...

jonobie,
@jonobie@social.coop avatar

So Yellow Cab App for was around $50 to Lyft’s $75.

👎🏻No way to rate driver or give feedback other than calling an actual phone number.

👎🏻No exact quote, so you’re on a meter.

👍🏻Fleet is not Teslas with doors that won’t open if there’s a crash.

👍🏻Clean car, fine driver, if sliiightly chattier than I wanted.

👍🏻Prebook time had them showing up on the dot. Didn’t try an instant hail.

👍🏻Much cheaper!

I’d try them again.
