“In 2020, TfL introduced a #20mph speed limit on all of its roads within central #London… [Since then] collisions involving vulnerable road users have decreased by 36% while collisions involving people walking have decreased by 63%” and speeds are down by 2-5MPH.
The foolish waste of an opportunity at #OntarioPlace because a Provincial Government lacks any shred of imagination. We could've had mostly park. We could've had park + Navy Pier. But no. We're going to spend $500 million to subsidize a big glass box on the waterfront & build 2000 underwater parking spaces. Put #Therme in Rexdale near Woodbine Racetrack, as #ThermeManchester is set on a parking lot just east of the Trafford Centre. [#OntarioPlaceForAll#urbanplanning#Toronto ] @normsworld
Hello! I’m new this little corner of the universe. Actually, it’s fediverse, isnt it? I’ll get the hang of it. Like many, I’m checking things out in light of what’s going on at a certain bird site, & I gather that an #introductionpost is a good way to get started. So, who am I? Well, most importantly, I’m a #husband and a #parent. Otherwise, my interests include #episcopalchurch#urbanplanning#environment#climatecrisis#tech#apple among many, many others. 500 characters isn’t much after all!

Back in the 1960s, two Tasmanians – Bill Mollison and David Holmgren – coined the term “permaculture” to describe a new way of thinking about farming, and how we can grow our food in a more ecologically sustainable way.
Late #introduction. I’m Jonathan. I’ve been a practicing city planner for 16+ years in #LosAngeles, California. My experience spans the public, private, & nonprofit sectors.
Working on the ground in South Central LA, I created #EmbeddedPlanning praxis. In this approach, planners move with intention to push their work to the street-level.
I’m also an adjunct Lecturer in #UrbanPlanning at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
