Deswegen schon nö, weil bei den meisten Seiten dann ebenfalls nur ein Teil des Artikels zu sehen ist und ich dann wieder genötigt werde, ein Abo abzuschließen. Aber dann wurde ich schon getrackt.
Also werde ich das nicht abschalten und grundsätzlich solche Seiten meiden und mein Geld bekommen die auch nicht. 🤷

And she would definitely do it if she didn't have me. Some time ago I defended ad blockers as tools of online security and this is a real-life example that it's really the case.
Until Google, Meta and others get their act together, their ads should be blocked.
I don't use an #AdBlocker. I haven't used an ad blocker in a decade or more. I see plenty of ads on the web. What I do is block third-party #cookies and known cross-site #trackers. The number of sites (even apparently legitimate sites) that implore me to disable my ad blocker is disappointing.
I was actually mainly thinking about TV ads, billboards, analog newspaper ads, mailbox leaflets or whole papers that pretend to be a newspaper but are in reality a big ad, 😅
since thanks to AdBlockers, WebAds have seized to be a problem for me.
But you are right, the WWW without AdBlockers is a dangerous and unusable mess. At least here on the Web we have a technical solution against ads.

Am besten verzichtet man auf sie und verlinkt sie auch nicht, da gerade Anfänger/Einsteiger davon irritiert werden könnten. Empfehlt stattdessen die Installation von uBlock Origin und anderen zuverlässigen Ad-Block-Lösungen. 👇

I've been using an #adblocker lately with #Firefox to view most things. After I get a few pages down the page freaks-the-F out. It tries to deliver ads - the adblocker removes them - then the page tries to load ads, and the blocker removes them. Ping-pong.
This causes the page to jump-jump-jump making it impossible to read. That's my clue to shut down #Facebook for the day.

Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.
🧵 …mal sehen ob die oben erwähnten Lösungen, um #Video's auf #YouTube sich Datenfreundlich anzusehen, auch davon betroffen sein werden oder schon sind. Abgesehen davon, empfehle ich wie schon oben erklärt, @peertube als unabhängige #Alternative diesbezüglich und auch weil es ein Teil im #Fediverse ist.
