“Meanwhile In Meatspace” was the first Yoni Den long player, released on BandCamp in January 2020. Later that year it was (re)released on HoloJamz with a limited physical release on MiniDisc and Cassette, some sweet merch in the form of Tee Shirts and ArtPrints. Unfortunately, after selling out the MiniDiscs and a bunch of tapes, HoloJamz went to the wall and the orders were never fulfilled.
That’s as close as I ever got to a physical release.
And it kind of soured this Album a little for me, for a short while.

It’s a goofy album.
I loved it when I was making it.
It was made entirely on the Elektron Digitakt, using no track mixdowns, so it’s limited to eight ‘tracks’ or ‘voices’ at any one time. This gives a great minimal lofu kind of vibe to the album. I rarely use more than three drums in a track,(this is true of most of my music! Ha!), it’s mixed by ear in the digitakt and recorded with Zoom H6. I guess it is mostly Instrumental on the Hip-Hop side of Hip-House, your guess is as good as mine.

Today, almost four years on, this is still a goofy album.
I do love it again.

It’s a name your price release on BandCamp, just pop in zero to cop.
I hope you will enjoy it!

Much Love!

My has been compared to , , , an "alternate world dystopia" version of the soundtrack, "if had a soundtrack," and been summarized as "mental but strangely hypnotic." Doesn't that make you the slightest bit curious? Because, c'mon, that is wild. Have a listen here:

@jake4480 ever heard of the band Coachwhips?

Stumbled on this album doing 2004 research. It'll wake you up in the morning, that's for sure. 😁

Fan of vinyl? Steely Dan? Music history?

This is a riveting watch, explaining how the album Aja changed the way records were mastered.

One of my favorite Arch Enemy albums, esp. the "Poisoned Arrow" track 😍

It's catchy, the vocals are perfect, it's epic - it's all in there! 🤘

of the day: Painted Romans - Heart

Since I was just given a free copy of their new, upcoming album, it's only fair that I talk about them here on Fedi for the first time 💗

I think I found out about this Norwegian 🇳🇴 project through post-punk.com if I remember correctly, and right off the bat I absolutely fell in love with them. Many of my gothy friends don't share this sentiment, but for me the sound of this release is just right up my alley. The post-punky, reverbed, chorused guitars mixed with the retro-hypnagogic-sounding synths (especially in "New Kind" and "Drives Me On") to me almost feel like a post-punk/vaporwave fusion - and if you know me, then you probably can tell that is just the perfect kind of stuff for my ears.

I love it so much. :gothsparkleheart: 💗

Their music disappeared off streaming recently, but they've mentioned that they plan to make a comeback sometime in the future :)

It's incredibly dark here in Portsmouth. I've finished work, and it's time for #TonightsListening: #PieceOfMind by #IronMaiden. A decent crack of classic #Metal in this dim twilight.

The last track on this #Album, 'To Tame a Land', inspired me to read #Dune when I was in my teens.

Crafty types out there: can anyone recommend a good display album for stickers? The wife has been collecting stickers that are available on occasion from a coffee place here called Dutch Bros. Attached pic shows examples of what they look like, none of them are too large, probably nothing bigger than a 5x7 photo. Yes I know I could probably just use a regular old photo album but I don’t know if there’s anything out there better suited to display things like this - vinyl stickers that don’t need any protective “anti acid” treatment within the album to prevent them fading or whatnot.

- & João Gilberto – Getz/ Gilberto (1964). Saxophonist Stan Getz and Brazilian guitarist Joao Gilberto added minimalist piano by Antonio Carlos Jobim and guest vocals by Astrud Gilberto on this LP, codifying the bossa nova style for all time. Grammy-winner “The Girl from Ipanema” and smooth stunner “Corcovado” defined 60s cool in a Mad Men universe. The craze caught on and even Sinatra caught the bossa-nova bug.

Today is intense and it doesn't look like it's calming down anytime soon. So I need a to keep things manageable.

Planet of Lana is apparently a perfectly functional game with cute overtones, so sayeth my friend by whom this was recommended. This is... beautiful. Orchestral pieces normally have a natural grandeur and heft, but this manages to be delicate, deliberate.

Takeshi Furukawa knocked it outta the park. Bravo, sib. Good .

I really tried to capture the spirit of the outfits and the album cover here. The outfits were harder to capture than getting the room all blue.

Think I'll stick with a couple of themes from yesterday for #TonightsListening - a 'wintry' album and - why the hell not - by another female singer-songwriter.

So #NowPlaying is '50 Words For Snow' by Kate Bush.

Am listening to Michael Kiwanuka's Kiwanuka album. I remember hearing it for the first time in a store, and I was mesmerised.

I asked the store clerk who it was, they said Michael and I was blown away.

The album is just timeless, every time I hear it, there's another song standing out.

This one is my favourite, though.

And it really makes me happy to read on his Instagram that new music may be coming this year.

Here's a two-minute sampler of my "Here Be Dragons." 🐉

11 tracks of and and a bunch of other things. 9 different lead singers, all kinds of surprises and old school songwriting like bridges, solos, and changeups, and just for fun it ends with a 10-minute prog pop epic folk tale! 🤘

The sampler barely scratches the surface, so check out the full album at:

Audio clips from Blue Nagoon's album "Here Be Dragons" play over footage of 80s adventure movies and other dramatic images like a woman running, a woman singing on a beach, and an anime woman holding a knife.
