After sending my Anbernic RG351P to the grave (don't ask me why 🥲), I bought the Anbernic RG35XX-H as a portable retro gaming console.
@zafer ' s new toy, the RG35XX Pro model (last photo), has the same chipset. Its price was quite reasonable compared to the RG351p at the time (Anbernic is currently $53 + taxes, whereas when I bought the RG351p, it was around $110 excl. taxes).
The #Miyoo Mini Plus is on sale on AliExpress alongside a bunch of other retro handhelds from #Anbernic and the like. So it might be a good time to grab one :P
I saw once a GBA that had a cartridge with an USB-C port to put games inside without even having to disconnect it from the console.
Anyone knows if there's somewhere they sell that? #retrogaming#gba
While the #anbernic RG556 is a great #emulation / #gaming platform, it has a big flaw when it comes to TypeC support; it will NOT do HDMI and charging at the same time. It is using an external display OR charging... not both! Hopefully a software update, but I doubt... This means that the Baseus Steam Deck docks I have are all not working with this device (but works with Samsung devices and a Deck of course).
Ordered the #Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. Then got impatient realizing it would take like a month to get here. So I may have accidentally also ordered the #Anbernic RG35XX+. :game_boy:
Irresponsible? Yes. But I do think they have distinct purposes. The gameboy-ish size of the rg35xx is super pocket friendly. Should be great for playing #Pokemon at the gym between sets.
But it seems the RP4p can handle #GameCube and #PS2 emulation with almost no issues.
My amazing girlfriend got me a #retro hand held for Christmas. So far been having a blast just getting it customized and applying some hardware mods (better back buttons, fix for a known D-Pad isssue, custom O.S. Etc)
The purple Game Boy Color was my first ever game system, followed by the purple #GBA and then the blue SP. The original DMG needs some repairs and replacement parts, it was a garage sale pickup years ago.
I use the #SteamDeck a lot nowadays, but I still try to make time for the #retro#handhelds. The mini #emulation handhelds can be a nice change of pace as well! Do you still like old school handhelds? Let me know!
