une jolie vidéo sans paroles avec plein de chouettes bruits d'aiguilles, qui montre plein de petits modèles de fleurs brodées en relief. C'est beau et très soigné, et les points sont très bien montrés !
Our online study about #misophonia, #ASMR, musical #chills aka #frisson, and #musicality reactions in the general population is now accepted for a special issue at Phil Trans B on "Sensing and Feeling"! Thanks especially to editors Hirohito Kondo and Brian Moore for putting together such an exciting topic!
See link for updated pre-print on OSF.
We found a lot of things but here a few highlights:
Misophonia reactions to videos seem to be pretty common, even in people who wouldn't be diagnosed with "misophonia" The Disorder.
People who have a lot misophonia reactions to videos also have a lot of ASMR and chills reactions.
A self-report measure of general musicality does not correlate with misophonia, ASMR, or chills reactions. But stay tuned because we're doing an in person study now with both adults and kids using a wider set of music perception tasks.
Coming up on tonight's stream: the concluding part of The House on the Borderland! It's cosmic, it's haunting, it's.. sadly unfortunate if you're a pet in a William Hope Hodgson story, so be Content Warned :/ https://www.twitch.tv/chilliteracy
Last night I thought that the humidifier in our bedroom was developing terrible technical problems, since I was hearing weird gurgling and sucking sounds coming from that corner of the room. It was only when it started speaking out loud about how it hoped I was enjoying the experience, I realized that Janine fell asleep with ASMR videos playing on her phone.
The 10yo grabbed a peeling fire hydrant and got metal shards in his hand. Too small for a tweezers. Fortunately, I am a child of the 80s and 90s. I covered his hand in glue, let it set, and peeled the most satisfying batch of “picky skin.” Now he’s obsessed. #asmr#glue
