Though, "we" know most of the #opensource alternatives around, I like @Framasoft's approach of presenting and promoting various #degoogled services in a bundle. And, I have to admit, there is always one or the option in that range, that I had not known about! Merci, #Framasoft! 👍
Kudos to Android app "SMS Import / Export" for helping me migrate to a new phone without sharing my data with any clouds. All call logs and SMS exported and imported no problem!

Wenn fastboot access vorhanden ist, wäre es vielleicht möglich ein Custom Recovery zu flashen um deine Daten herunterladen zu können oder das System (ohne die Userdaten kaputt zu machen) erneut zu flashen. Ich kann mich aber erinnern das Samsung nicht gerade "offen und freundlich" ist, sprich bei meinem Phone klappt das, wenn Samsung aber da rumgepfuscht hat, wirds schwierig

But now you are requesting for my GoogleID?? I have a #degoogled Android phone. The whole reason to move to #proton was to move away from Google.. So, how can I test and make use of this feature please?
@voorstad At this time, a GoogleID is required to receive an invitation for the Proton Drive beta. An independent APK for the beta is not yet available.
@simon_brooke@ilumium@murena if you want a really blank slate, @GrapheneOS is the way to go. I think both @e_mydata and @calyxos are also light on "extra" apps, but not to the extent of Graphene.
#gigaset, the company behind my smartphone (GX6) has apparently gone bankrupt. 😏 I wonder if I'll be able to install updated versions of some #degoogled#android#rom or even #linux on it, even though it's a very niche device. I am still running Android 12 and have been eagerly awaiting the long-announced update to 13. And now I'm afraid there will be no more updates at all.
There is no privacy with whatsapp. if you have to have it for the office, request a phone from the office. If they don't want to and you feel you have to cave in, get a cheap second hand phone with nothing on it an put it there.
I refused for years, my argument being that either it was so important for the office to be able to contact me any time that they should provide a phone for it. If it wasn't, there was no reason to use my private phone.
Worked for me 😉
