I finished recently "The Night Land", by William Hope Hodgson. One of the weirdest books I have ever read. Half gothic novel, half science fiction, with some touches of a love story, but it's probably unclassifiable.
The book imagines an incredibly far future, where the stars have disappeared, a permanent night reigns in the Earth, and humanity lives in a gigantic pyramid surrounded by strange and evil forces.
But I'm probably not being fair with my description. The book has a couple of flaws, but it's so weird, so original and imaginative that I loved it. #books#reading#fedibookfair
I greatly enjoyed reading The Gladiator's Passion: An Eagle's Honor Novel by Sandra Schwab. @ScribblingSandy
I've read quite a few #mmromance books set in ancient Roman times. This 5-star book really stands out for the rich details and research which bring the story alive. The book is about a medical doctor who falls in love with a champion gladiator. Highly recommended!
I've already downloaded The Centurion's Choice and Yuletide Truce to continue reading books from this author. Thanks to #FediBookFair for the connection.

"Really great stories!"--Peter Straub.
Except for used copies the book is only in an #ebook format currently. WARNING: very dark stories. Not for your kids.

What's worse than being ignored by your god?
Worse is having your god owe you a favor. Particularly when he's a trickster.
Anari has won his god's undivided attention. If he can survive it, he will have one chance to save them all. Fortunately, Anari has a few tricks up his own sleeve.

Time to talk about my latest release! #PompeiiFire is a #dualtimeline#HistoricalFiction#novella of which I am very proud. Researched in person just before the pandemic and released in August of this year, the book has already garnered three awards.
Question for the #WritingCommunity: when did it become popular to subtitle #books with lengthy #SEO phrases?
"TITLE: An unputdownable enemies-to-lovers domestic thriller with a breathtaking twist!"
To this #IndieAuthor, it seems like a lot of self-aggrandizing spoilers. I want to discover all those elements through #reading, not have every ingredient listed on the package! Am I missing something?
In this newly revised and updated second edition of Labrys and Horns, you’ll find the pantheon, rituals, symbols and practices of Ariadne's Tribe, an inclusive revivalist tradition that connects the deities of ancient Crete with modern Pagans in a living spiritual practice. With a pantheon headed by a triplicity of mother goddesses who embody the three sacred realms of land, sky, and sea, Minoan spirituality calls us to remember a time when women were valued as equals to men, when the Great Mothers took care of all their children, and when the sacred touched every person every day of their lives.
Minoan spirituality is so relevant to our times, when we’re doing our best to move forward and away from inequality and oppression.
This book can help you build relationships with the Minoan deities and bring their blessings into your life, and from there, into the larger world.
Inclusive Minoan Spirituality for the Modern World
Explore the history, the culture, and most of all, the profound spirituality of these fascinating people and their family of deities as we know them in Ariadne’s Tribe. Then invite the deities into your sacred space with seasonal rituals and rites of passage. And let them inspire and transform your ways of thinking, worshiping, and being in the modern world.
Ariadne's thread reaches across the millennia to connect us with the divine. Will you follow where it leads?
