The time has come for a de-stashing. If you are in the US/Canada, have challenges acquiring yarn, and are interested in a mystery box of yarn of varying weights, colors, and materials, please let me know. If I have multiple interested parties, I may choose 1-2 winners, or I may distribute the yarn in some way. You will receive the yarn free of charge. All I ask is that you give it a good home - either use it yourself or donate it on. @knitting

I use the @MonaApp the most and I decided today to redo my tabs customizations. Now the things care about most are right there, and I get a little notif symbol when new content is present. I have lists of old peeps from the bird site and Fiber Faves. I follow hashtags like and . If you like customization, check out Mona.

This month's is another cardigan. I've been calling this one my 'hobbit sweater' because it looks like something a Baggins would wear.

(Bonus cat pic cuz she would not get out of the way, lol)

Yarn is Lion Brand Mandala: Centaur

The same sweater as the previous pic, except my black cat Cupcake is sitting primly in the middle looking up at the camera.

This week is unexpectedly cold, so I'm wearing my newly finished, unblocked, hap, and it is perfectly warm and snuggly as I work on the collar on a summery cardigan -- also almost finished!

I just got scared of seeing my empty project bag laying around... before remembering it is no longer a WIP! Time to think of my next project to cast on 😀 ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜

I usually do a standard heel flap and French heel. I can do it by heart and it fits me well. For this pair I decided to go with a band heel, just to do something different, and because it’s easier to stay in pattern if I don’t have to think about gusset decreases.
It fits, but would fit a bit better if I had used a little more than half the stitches to work it, which would have added a little height. I have a somewhat high instep.

The neck edging on my Glaswegian Summer Sweater is now done, I only have to sew down the edges. Onwards to the sleeves! 😃

question.

I've been researching picking up stitches (for collar band on cardigan, both front and neck). I tend to get a lot of holes.

Now, I found the following tips browsing the internet, which of these would you recommend? Any other things to think about? So pick up along a side of the garment.

  • picking up ratio 3:4
  • pick up and knit (k1 p1) and next row twisted stitches
  • pick up both legs of the stitch
  • divide with markers to even the count of picked up stitches

Knitting success and knitting question:

  1. The green one is done and fits!!! (My hair is doing a weird thing!)

#2. The purple one: I was supposed to switch to a bigger needle after the collar I think and didn’t. Is that why it’s sort of proofed out? Will it block out or should I redo that? Any advice gladly accepted.

Craft projects updates:

  1. Variegated yarn sweater for my great grandbaby.
  2. Finished sleeve of sweater for me.
  3. Afghan for the chair? Another 12" and it will be finished.

A knitted sweater sleeve, in dark navy blue, with a fair isle design in white, yellow and green around the wrist.
An afghan, covering an office chair, in variegated chevron stripes of blue-green/aqua/dark purple/light lavender.

Nerding out at it's best.

I think I need to watch this a few more times to really understand it, but I love it, when science and textiles crafts meet and people make a deep dive into this.

“Ocean Storm” on aran. Today is your last chance to buy before @wonderwoolwales as I’m packing all the yarn tomorrow. This isn’t some marketing trick to make you feel pressure of time, it’s just a statement. You can be sure of this because I have learned that reminding people actually causes a fall in sales! I do it anyway because I think I would like to know if I were a potential customer.

Here's a new construction idea for fingerless gloves - nearly finished (only one seam to graft) and it worked right away ... but it uses only right angles and garter stitch, i.e. the calculations are easier.
