🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺 Don't miss the wonderful tale <heh heh> of Wally, the rescued Tibetan mastiff, especially part 2/3rd way through when she removes Wally's pelt. Incredible!!

I wonder if it's the same for sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats, etc. What a great dog!

Yesterday I started knitting again after years of not knitting a single stitch. I forgot how much I love it. 😁🧶

All the stitches came back to me as soon as I picked the needles up again. I didn't have to look up how to do any of it, I guess it must be muscle memory. 👀 :knitting: :ablobcatknitsweats:

🧶 It's done! Yarn re-skeined on swift from ball I wound months ago, washed in Eucalan, dried thoroughly (it fluffed up, so nice!), re-wound just now into a ball.

Guess I still have to swatch? Do I? Hmmm...

@Knitting

Same yarn, re-skeined, ball started with figure 8 blob
Skein washed, so nice and fluffy and soft! The white yarn (used to tie) opened up quite a bit too.

I’m looking for fediverse accounts to follow for inspiration in my new leisure interest: . I’ve made two pairs so far and am looking for help and style variations, as well as tips to improve my technique.

Comment with links if you know of any, thanks!

@ellane Here are a whole bunch of hashtags to check out. Not all relevant to socks but all are fiber arts related. Welcome to this wild and woolly world!

My creature is coming along. His face is looking less cartoonish and more realistic.

I've been staring at this poor white tube with legs on my coffee table for a couple weeks but now he's starting to come together. .

Now the tube has tan, russet and brown colouring and large wings, a translucent beak and large round yellow eyes.

I missed the woodland home I gave away so made another. This one has more whimsical trees, bent by wind and time. The stone wall has more detail as it's formed from individual rocks. Above it all, there's sunshine for growth and to light the future. .

An overhead shot of the first scene.
A more close up shot for greater detail.

I "painted" a little scene, in a margarita glass, from wool. I plan to give it to a bartender friend of mine who collects mushrooms.

For a fundraiser, I raffled off the opportunity for someone to have their companion animal duplicated in wool. Little Pax's owner won. Arts

Holy f*@k - I did a Thing!
I inherited a part ball of variegated yarn - which I dislike using because I feel it's disorganized, chaotic and messy looking. But I've seen this thing done online and decided to spend a day screwing around and tried it. It bloody worked. (Eventually) I'm amazed. A combination of programming and sorcery.

A small panel of crochet made with green, yellow and white variegated yarn, but it is organized into an argyle pattern. The technique is called colour pooling.

We finally put up the Christmas tree! Not finished decorating, so not posting a full picture, but here are the Mastodon baubles my wife made, in their rightful place 😊

A blue felt Mastodon with rosy blushing cheeks in a red Santa hat hanging from a natural Christmas tree illuminated by pleasantly warm white fairy lights.

Apparently to get a smoother surface when felting you can use plastic wrap, and that’s exactly what’s happening here…
