Just discovered that playground devices can now be added to Mapcomplete. This could be interesting for some playground devices.

Sunset Geometry
Happy Thursday! Who liked geometry at school? Actually, I did. This is full of just the sort of lines and shapes that I grew to love in those classes. A sunset picked these elements out perfectly, at the same time putting a rosie glow on the school - a colour I don't imagine many kids asssociate with school.I hope this brings back some good memories of fun times.

Narrator's voice: Writing this involved searching the web for syntax. Using a 🦀 a lot. And understanding the lifetimes in the code was not without its merit.

And here's some pictures from the new park opening a few days ago! Kiddo's going to be mad that we can't go back until we're sure we won't make anyone sick; it was really fun. His favourite was the spinny things (second picture) and the sand/water play river. But the big forest troll was cool too, just too busy for his tastes. There's lots of thought put into accessible play and parent seating.

This is Hidden Creek Park West in Hillsboro for folk. If you go while it's busy there's extra parking at Hidden Creek Park East on the other side of 53rd ave.

Spring Chicken
One of those spring-mounted riding toys, in a park outside . The toy was wooden and quite old and beautiful. It's a rooster, I think.

This rotting, rusting roundabout may not have turned for decades. But it still resonates with the shrieks of children’s once-upon-a-time hi-octane, dizzying adventures. Faster! FASTER!

Today I was feeling lazy so we did something a bit different. My wife mixed up birthday party time so instead going home we decided to waste a few hours outside. The kid was happy and grateful.🥰 @cycling @rower

I remember those kinds of equipment, plus a long metal slide. The metal slide would bake in the sun and burn your skin if you were wearing shorts and didn't keep your bare skin off the metal. I would have to lean back a bit, put my shoes on the slide, and keep my knees up high, to avoid injury. It was best to try sliding on a cloudy day. LOL
