Narrator's voice: Writing this involved searching the web for syntax. Using a 🦀 #playground a lot. And understanding the lifetimes in the code was not without its merit.
And here's some pictures from the new park opening a few days ago! Kiddo's going to be mad that we can't go back until we're sure we won't make anyone sick; it was really fun. His favourite was the spinny things (second picture) and the sand/water play river. But the big forest troll was cool too, just too busy for his tastes. There's lots of thought put into accessible play and parent seating.
This is Hidden Creek Park West in Hillsboro for #pdx folk. If you go while it's busy there's extra parking at Hidden Creek Park East on the other side of 53rd ave.
Spring Chicken
One of those spring-mounted riding toys, in a park outside #Amsterdam. The toy was wooden and quite old and beautiful. It's a rooster, I think. #toys#playground#netherlands#kitsch
I often wonder how I survived my childhood considering these were what we played on in the park in the neighborhood! 😲 😵 #ISurvivedMyChildhood#DeathTrapsInParks

I remember those kinds of #playground equipment, plus a long metal slide. The metal slide would bake in the sun and burn your skin if you were wearing shorts and didn't keep your bare skin off the metal. I would have to lean back a bit, put my shoes on the slide, and keep my knees up high, to avoid injury. It was best to try sliding on a cloudy day. LOL
Thanks to https://infinitemac.org/ I can go back to that seminal moment when my dad bought a #mac instead of "one of the complicated ones". Endless afternoons after school drawing my own stories. Today any vector software is a puzzle for my brain, but #clarisworks felt like a #playground.
