It's not the best album, by a long way, and it definitely introduces a different sound to the band (partly due to having dispensed once and for all with the "no synths" rule) but I've never thought it's as bad as many hardcore fans make out.

Apple Replay weekly listening stats update has happened. I hit 25,000 minutes yesterday. Unsurprisingly The Beaches are still in my number 1 slot. Daisy Jones and The Six remain second and Demob Happy rocket to number 3 due to me playing their new album a lot. My stalwarts Kate Bush and Queen complete the top 5 most listened to bands for me so far this year.

Right about now on this day in 1982, me and my mate were waking up after oversleeping on the morning of Queen's Milton Keynes Bowl gig.
We thought we were screwed and would be at the back as the gates were about to open.
We ordered a taxi and lamented this to the driver. He said he knew what to do. He told us there were multiple gates to get in and that one at the stage end of the arena was hardly used. He took us to it just as it opened. We walked in and ended up at the front!
