Who tried the tactics game of Suikoden?
My physical copy included a bonus music cd soundtrack.
Suikoden Tactics, released in 2005, takes place before IV for a small portion of the story but the majority of story then fast forwards 10 years after IV. Its departure from fhe typical JRPG series using the tactical grid that grew in popularity from other emerging tactics games at that time.
Like in role-playing video games where not picking a side makes you miss a lot of content, I feel like my personal aversion to commit to any cult (religion, mysticism, economic theories, technology, pseudoscience, conspiracy theories, etc...) is making me miss out on a lot of IRL content.

Diablo II (2000) is the first role-playing game I’ve known to give fighter classes the same amount of ”spells” as the caster classes by leveraging unique weapon skills and special movement techniques rather than purely magical spells or scrolls.
I definitely have mixed memories of table-top role playing game sessions where players with caster characters were frantically flipping through the extensive spell list of the Player Manual while players with fighter characters were recounting their dice over and over for lack of a better thing to do.
It's easy to say "you should leave politics out of D&D" for people whose very existence hasn't been forcibly politicized. Even if I didn't play trans PCs, as a trans woman my very presence at the table is political. 1/4
The poster claimed to have "strong feelings" but apparently not strong enough to keep them from hanging out with a Republican regularly for a year. I couldn't feel comfortable doing that for 5 minutes because Republicans want people like me dead. 2/4
When you break bread with bigots, you show them that there are no social consequences for their bigotry. And you show marginalized people that you can't be trusted, because you care more about your social bonds with bigots than you do about the victims of that bigotry. 3/4
