Been working on a cover of Bryan Adams song Run To You and have been struggling a lot with the guitar sound. All of the Les Paul’s have way too much low end & sound really muddy. The amount of EQ required to “fix” this is ridiculous. The Strat actually works really well. So the takeaway is that a $150 Squier works better here than a $6000 Gibson.

Unfortunately, I still can't use my #studio. When operating on the two #ups units, they #overheat after about an hour because they constantly have to compensate for #undervoltage (voltage a times drops from 220V to 140V). Whitout UPS, my power conditioners refuse to work because of "extreme voltage". So I guess I will have to be patient until we'll eventually get a #solar system up and running. #patience
I trust that there's a good reason for all of this and stay #positive. 🫣️🫣️
Well, go figure. I’m now totally perplexed. Powered the system up this morning, and it works. Nothing different from yesterday when it wasn’t working, just an 18 hour power down.
So what’s my take away here? Firstly, I’ve lost all faith in the Presonus interface. Secondly, I’ve bought myself some extra time to explore alternatives, but an alternative will have to be found. Thirdly, I need to make hay while the sun is shining.
Finally got the studio-in-progress organized and it's workable, although I'm definitely still looking forward to getting tipis together and having a better ceremonial space for tattoos.
To-dos include hanging art, setting up a space for my illustration & flash portfolios, sanding and refinishing my workbench, and getting some fitting and dedicated linens for the futon.
A brief update on my #battery driven #studio. It looks like I'm going to have to invest in #solar cells right now after all, as the #electricity here on this beautiful island is not only exceptionally bad or #unstable in terms of #voltage but also in terms of #frequency, which makes it difficult for the #inverter to recognize a #powergrid as present at all. 😵💫️ Recently, the #volts have dropped at times below 140 while the frequency has hovered beween 40 to 55 #hertz.

Well the Presonus Quantum 4848 is removed from the rack and awaiting its final disconnection from my system. The Apogee Symphony arrived at the L&M Ontario depot from California a couple of days ago, so it should be here soon. Getting excited now. #gearsquad#studiogear#studio#recording#presonus#apogee
Still far from finished, but I am making progress in rebuilding the #studio (and am very excited about it). 🥰 I was looking for a bunch of things (IsoAcoustic stands, screws for absorbers, etc.) for hours today (without success). 🫣 Looking forward to continuing tomorrow.
Back in business, the Apogee Symphony MKII is now integrated into my studio and working like a charm.Will probably retire the Apogee Quartet that has been my workhorse for over a decade.
