A video of the xenon piece I made on Friday hooked up to a standard electronic transformer. On most of these it has this lightning in a bottle effect. You can hear the arc bouncing off the walls of the glass in its staticy white noise. It's reactive to touch an electrical currents

The stuff lighting up nearby is from the electric fields coming off the wire. Sloppy wiring on this little tester setup.

Worker/artist owned cooperative — with distribution, to tell their own stories. Images below.

  1. Workers, writers, and artists start a cooperative production company

  2. They license/option existing stories to the company (which they own together!) and put stories on a website where audiences can access them

  3. Stories can be scripts, treatments, readings, storyboards — it's great material in those formats, and people will dive into those stories just the same

  4. Share the website (distribution!) with followings, along with a way to subscribe

  5. You now have a worker/writer/artist owned cooperative, with distribution, stories, and an audience!

More details in the images below, made as a guide/resource to be helpful.

Page 2 of 2 << Back Start lo-fi productions This is the alternative to the Hollywood studio and streaming system. Workers and artists start low-budget productions, for their own cooperative and distribution website and audience. Even if it’s shot on a smartphone in a single room over a weekend. Non-extractive funding (if helpful) If the cooperative wants more resources - to make more stories, get more workers and crew involved, or anything else - the success thus far can be the basis for non-extractive funding (like loans, revenue-based financing, or even advertising fom businesses you want to support - like a local farm, a direct action group, or a bicycle company.) Funders are paid back through revenue, whether subscriptions or advertisements or earned income or other possibilities. How to start? Workers, writers, artists interested in leading their own cooperative production company. They license/option stories to the cooperative, which they co-own! They meet with a lawyer who’s on the same page, to make the legal framework. All members have a profit-share in the cooperative overall - it probably makes sense that people also have a profit-share in the projects they work on directly. The cooperative puts up a website which gives audience access to scripts, treatments, readings, storyboards, and stories. (Distribution!) Ran out of characters here, will post the rest of the description in the toots. Feel free to contact for more details as well.

My sweat paid for the tools and I opened the studio. The studio paid for the 3d printers and I added the 3d print farm. The 3d print farm paid for the printers and the stickers arrived. Now it's time for all areas to pay for a better version of themselves. Better tools, more 3d printing production, more optimized sticker printing.

Been working on a cover of Bryan Adams song Run To You and have been struggling a lot with the guitar sound. All of the Les Paul’s have way too much low end & sound really muddy. The amount of EQ required to “fix” this is ridiculous. The Strat actually works really well. So the takeaway is that a $150 Squier works better here than a $6000 Gibson.

Now I know why Bryan plays a Strat.🤔🙄😬😂

::: Ubuntu Studio - FOR ARTISTS & CREATORS - funding help requested 👛

Although the project serves admirably - the donations have dropped considerably!

Rough times - understandable, but any amount helps 🙏

Examples, why?

  • MIDI inputs setup is simple in Ubuntu Studio. Not much so in stock Ubuntu.

-- Even if one successfully sets these up, the generic kernel in regular Ubuntu results as input lag. Unecceptable for pro's.

  • Ubuntu Studio uses a low-latency kernel, and the MIDI input delay is imperceptible.

  • Ubuntu Studio is configured in a way that a recording artist can get started with minimal setup hassle!

-- Sure, one can tweak 'n fight to achieve same on any distro - but a typical recording artist or a studio engineer won't do that.

So please, if you're able => https://ubuntustudio.org/2023/05/we-need-your-help

Here is an updated look at my #Studio designed #Lego themed #natural #history book. Each #baseplate is a different scale, showing mostly extinct animals (theres some extant ones on the right side of the pink baseplate)
The person on the baseplates represents a person about 6 foot tall.
Im still working on more designs.

Getting moved into the new place, so it's time for a sneak peek of the new studio build! This is probably pretty close to the final build but there are definitely a few question marks here still. And I need a couple hundred dollars worth of stands, cables and what not to actually get it up and running (moving is expensive!), but hey, looks cool!

While inverter machines and digital control TIG machines are incredible, and plasma cutters are super fast and cut a sweet clean line., They do not have the soul of a 70 year old cutting torch, I love breaking out the Airco 'corn cob' torch.
