Many of us are plagued with runny noses, sore throats and coughs over the winter. But how can you tell if it's flu, Covid or a cold? Experts at Nottingham Trent University explain.
I was already having an #age#crisis when the skin around my eyes suddenly swelled up. #Today I found out why. The reason is not my age. I have urticaria for the first time ever. My neck also itches. Have you ever had this? 😮😮 #symptoms#finland
Still can't get a handle on whether it was government or the medical industrial complex that decreed "DontSay[COVID]." Still mentally rehashing how my doctor completely ignored even the notion that my range of #symptoms had anything to do with the most infectious virus around, even though every symptom I had is known to be associated with #COVID.
@josh@timbray given the number of people I know who have gotten #covid, including more than once, I am floored that I don't know anyone for sure that has #longCovid. And I am in communities that discuss #disability. I just think people have gotten really lucky or the #symptoms haven't popped up yet, because some are recent #infections.
"If your stroke symptoms go away after a few minutes, you may have had a transient ischemic attack (TIA), also sometimes called a “mini-stroke.” Although brief, a TIA is a sign of a serious condition that will not go away without medical help.
Unfortunately, because TIAs clear up, many people ignore them. But paying attention to a TIA can save your life. If you think you or someone you know has had a TIA, tell a health care team about the symptoms right away." #stroke#symptoms (per CDC)
The CDC finally issued #ventilation guidance for buildings! 5 air changes per hour. To compare, negative pressure isolation rooms in hospitals have at least 12 air changes per hour. A standard hospital room has 6 air changes per hour. Dr. Griffin would love to see air changes per hour posted on public buildings to make educated decisions about #COVID risk. 1/
A rapid antigen #test (European Sofia brand) was studied in clinical setting. It was less sensitive for omicron and for ppl with lower viral loads compared to RT-PCR. Interestingly, more sensitive in men and older patients. Big takeaway is that we can’t really use RATs to screen for early asymptomatic #COVID cases anymore. Best time to use a RAT is day 2-3 of #symptoms…
