OK, so I finished listening to all the #fedivision2024 entries, and I felt compelled to jot something down about more than twenty out of the 72 songs, for a wide variety of reasons.
And please don’t feel bad or left out if I don’t mention you in the following thread. It doesn’t necessarily mean I didn’t like or connect with your entry!
I continue to believe Zigbee delivers on the important things that Matter and Thread keep promising, but actually:
• mature
• widely available
• affordable
The one thing Matter over Thread devices can claim is that they work without a hub… except they don’t; the hub still has to be built into your Nest display, Apple HomePod, etc.
I have hundreds of low power, local-only smart devices from a dozen or so brands and it all… just works together.
Die Menschen lassen sich gerne betrügen und wenn die es mal "lösen", dann werden sie als Profis uns Spezies dargestellt. Ne, die sind es auf keinen Fall!

Last week my #VIC20, my first computer and still one of my favourite retrocomputers fell on the floor from a shelf. The 40-year old ABS case is brittle and broke right on top of the user and cassette ports. The Run Stop key also fell off 😩 #retrocomputing#repair#thread#commodore
Just cruised through a reddit post about a guy who explained how his daughter went to an Ivy League College debt free.
I cruise through these reddit posts about finance because I have no education in personal finance. Like having the $1000 emergency fund. That seems like a good idea.
Anyway, the title explains it like his daughter did all the work, but my take was, her parents had money and enough financial knowledge to start saving when she was born. #thread#savings
Did you know that #Shinzo Abe's grandfather was known as a #monster?
This is a 19-point #thread on the tumultuous years during & after #WW2 from Japan's POV, on the #problem of #US peace-keeping efforts & on Japan's ongoing nepotism issues.

(In this appeal to Congress, over 35 artists, activists, and scholars call for US funding to defend #Ukraine.)
Together we call upon #Congress to do the right thing.
Ukrainians are fighting for their existence. On territory that Russia occupies, it tortures Ukrainian citizens, kidnaps Ukrainian children and murders Ukrainian leaders. On territory Russia can reach with its weapons, it strikes civilians and rescue workers.
Really glad I got this 700-colour Gütermann #thread chart several years ago (now discontinued); it’s made matching thread colours something I can do from home, which is especially helpful on days like today when I can’t go out. Plus, 700 colours is a lot!
Unfortunately Maxi-Lock doesn’t sell a chart like this for their serger thread, they just want to you to buy a pack of all 76 colours. #sewing@sewing

I didn't have time to play yesterday, and it's really late for me now, but I'll give it a shot. I'm not writing the answers down

My first book, "Carmageddon: How Cars Make Life Worse and What to Do About It", just came out. It is about the history of how cars first ruined cities; how they are still ruining cities in Europe and America; how they are about to ruin even more cities in Asia and Africa; and what we need to do to stop it.
