Lunenburg #NovaScotia was founded in 1753 & is home to the schooner Bluenose, featured on the Canadian dime. The harbor is filled with pleasure craft, sailboats, and fishing boats of all types.
This quiet scene is hidden, quite out of the way on the Eastern shore of Nova Scotia, not far from #Lunenburg and #BlueRocks
I wish you a happy, peaceful Sunday, Fedi Friends.
This view is over the Minas Basin which is part of the Bay of Fundy water. We have rich red sandy cliffs and beaches and the lowest (or highest, depending) tides in the world here. Although this was taken years ago, we do have a full supermoon tonight.
For your #Friday enjoyment, Fedi Friends. Have a great day.
This reflection was part of a series I produced a few years ago. This is HMCS Acadia, which was docked by the Maritime Museum in Halifax harbour. Built in 1913, she survived the Halifax explosion of 1917. https://hmhps.ca/sites/hmcs-acadia
Happy Tuesday, Fedi Friends
The lush greens and golds surrounding Grand Pre National Historic Site #NovaScotia.
Grand Pre is a National Historic Site of Canada dedicated to the memory of one history's most tragic events, the Expulsion of the Acadians, the Great Expulsion or the Great Deportment.
I admit it...the sound of waves lapping at the shore makes me happy! And when I can smell the salt air, and feel the sand between my toes...I am one happy girl.
Happy 85th birthday! Her final resting place is the dock of the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg #NovaScotia as a living exhibit, but at one time, the Theresa E. Connor was the last of her kind....a saltbank schooner that was built in 1938 and sailed the waters as a fishing vessel for many years.
The tiny fishing village of Peggy's Cove #NovaScotia is home to less than 50 year round residents.
A working fishing village, it is home to a few weathered homes, fishing sheds,& fishing boats anchored at the wharf
