The most compact two-seater electric car was presented in Switzerland

The length of the electric vehicle is 2.5 m and the width is 1.47 m. Weight is less than 600 kg.

The car has a steel unibody structure and a 6 kW engine. The Microlino Lite is classified as an L6e vehicle, so anyone with an AM class moped license (eg teenagers over 14 years old) can drive one in Europe.

On one charge, the electric car can travel up to 177 km.

Astronomers have uncovered a new moon orbiting Uranus for the first time in more than 20 years and two more moons for Neptune. The three moons were found using ground-based telescopes and are some of the faintest. The Uranian moon measures just 8 km, while Neptune's new moons are 23 and 14 km across. Astronomers have identified moons at Jupiter down to just 2 km in size, so there are likely more to be found at both ice giants.

@fraser being so small wouldn't they count as asteroids or dwarf moons or something?

Kind of like Pluto or Ceres

@rempsyc@mastodon.world avatar

Looking at the 2019 robust outliers detection paper @lakens and I noticed extremely high outlier detection rates (30-45%) when applying the @rstats Routliers::outliers_mcd() function to my real datasets when more than two variables are involved. The h argument changes these numbers a bit but not much. Doesn’t that seem high to you? Is the MCD method only good for two variables?

AlejandroP,
@AlejandroP@mastodon.online avatar

@rempsyc @lakens @rstats super interesting. It's known that in high dimensions points tend to drift away from each other (the volume of the balls increases with dimension)

I Don't know how they define outliers in this paper, but this is my first guess why it might happen

A very nice tutorial for saving millions of headaches down the line when you run surveys on platforms like qualtrics! This is very much the flow we follow for this in my lab :) we use a construct map over a data dictionary but same principle, bonus it is excellent documentation about the empirical sources of our items and any adaptations we're testing and these docs have become a wildly useful internal asset

    Dutch 'Sixes' Culture vs US 'Performance' Culture (Education)

    What is the Dutch “Sixes” culture (zesjescultuur) in education? How does it compare to America’s “achievement” culture?
