@ai6yr
My mother crashed into five cars at once in a parking lot in February.
Since then, I've been practicing not driving. It takes a whole lot of re-learning, it's a mindset. And bus drivers and people on the bus aren't really patient or helpful while you learn. Fumbling for change while they are all silent and waiting is so embarrassing. I tried the app and it didn't work. The driver couldn't have cared less and shrugged so I just paid again in cash. I think the driver rolled his eyes. He didn't wait for me to sit, just lunged me into a seat.
I have my e bike but I'm afraid to try using the bike rack since I don't know how.
It's not easy to not drive.
Getting common questions as Eid is tomorrow—so to clear up confusion, here’s how to respond when someone wishes you “Eid Mubarak”:
•Eid Mubarak to you too!
•Eid Kareem!
•Khair Mubarak!
•I will buy you tacos for Eid!❤️
So if you were unsure how to reply, you’re welcome.😉
"Sonnet XVII" is a renowned poem written by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. It is part of his collection "One Hundred Love Sonnets" ("Cien sonetos de amor"), published originally in Spanish in 1959.
One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII
Translated by Mark Eisner
I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as one loves certain obscure things,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom but carries
the light of those flowers, hidden, within itself,
and thanks to your love the tight aroma that arose
from the earth lives dimly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you directly without problems or pride:
I love you like this because I don’t know any other way to love,
except in this form in which I am not nor are you,
so close that your hand upon my chest is mine,
so close that your eyes close with my dreams.
Why aren't we filling the streets with protest of supreme court?
Nothing can beat streets filled with people saying we aren't gonna take this corruption.
They do it in countries where they could be killed, but we can't be bothered and sit home online and think we're effective.
What happened after the women's march in 2017? Nothing. And we couldn't be bothered after they took Roe and control of our own bodies away from us.
COMING UP: Terrence Bradley--the former divorce attorney of special prosecutor Nathan Wade--is expected to take the stand and resume his testimony in Fulton County. #FaniWillis#Georgia#legal
Okay, one more contribution for #SuperbOwlSunday. This is a Strix nebulosa, a #SuperbOwl I saw in Grand Teton National Park, a few years back. Great grey owls are one of the most amazing creatures. Their ability to hover, hear prey under lots of snow, and dive up to a foot into the snow to catch prey is amazing!
I'm trying out a Motorola phone, as my old one finally went to the big bit bucket. Motorola is now owned by Lenovo. Let me just say that I absolutely abhor how they're now overusing "Think" + some word, all in white with a red dot above the "i". In other words, the IP they bought from IBM that they seem to value most. Seeing "ThinkShield" as the phone boots only serves to remind me just how much they've discarded of what it meant for a laptop to be a ThinkPad.
Okay, so I'm going to type out a sentence, and I want you all to finish it, but instead of doing deep thinking about it, just type the very first thing that pops into your head. I know this will be hard for many of you, but try it! LOL
If I could do whatever I wanted to right now, I would _________.
@drahardja I have no idea who she is, so I'm starting with the obvious.
I also find it odd that almost all the male billionaires are very unattractive, and I start from the assumption their girlfriends are transactional.
