Let's be clear on what it means that a famine in the technical sense is imminent for 1.1 million people in Gaza according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

One of the criteria is 2 deaths per 10,000 people from outright starvation or the interaction of malnutrition and disease... PER DAY.

The people who understand this stuff are saying that a situation is imminent where there are AT LEAST 200 starvation deaths every day.

Rockstar Games has asked its staff to return to the office five days a week, starting in April. The Edinburgh-based company says this relates to completing development on GTA 6 “at the level of quality and polish we know it requires,” and to mitigate security breaches. GTA 6, which is not due to ship until 2025, experienced leaks in September 2022 and December 2023. IGN reports that Rockstar developers are accusing the company of "broken promises," and are concerned about crunch as well as overall impacts to health and wellbeing.

Marvel has finally confirmed casting for the "Fantastic Four" movie, releasing a teaser poster that showed Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch) and Ebon Moss Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing). So in theory if I had a big Bluesky account and wanted to bounce, I could click a few buttons and transfer it all to Mastodon dot notBluesky and be free. Hmm, that is a solid lever against enshittification. Not sure I'll try it still, but I do understand the fascination now and why it is popular. Thanks!
